I posted this question on Extremeskins.com, "Shannahan and Pete Carroll were hired within in days of one another, who's done a better job building their roster and why, plus name one position we're better at compared to Seattle". Of-course there were a lot of excuses.

They weren't in the same situation. You can't compare coaches taking over two different teams (and culture) and compare the two.

Shanahan is a good coach. Shanahan is a bad GM. That pretty much explains it.
