Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I think he just wants to play Cousins to ruin his trade value and get one last stab in there before he leaves. I almost guarantee on Wednesday he says RG3 is the starter.

i think benching rg3 the rest of the season wouldnt be a bad thing and im not buying into the notion that he is doing it to stick it anybody.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I guess this is going over my head, why is the option of shutting RG3 down this season a power play between Shanny and Snyder? I can see where Snyder want the franchise QB to play. And if you say so, the season being over doesn't mean RG3 can't still get some much needed reps in. It just doesn't seem to me like playing or sitting RG3 does much for Shanny's image either way, unless he starts calling RG3's number on 12 fullback dives in a row (or a dozen seven-step-drops in a row with our OL) What obvious things am I missing here?

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I highly doubt he's sitting him down cause he doesn't like him. I think it's a combination of things....like his below average play for most of the season. I do believe Mike wants him healthy going into the off season, and he wants to see Cousins. If he is going to sit RG3 then he needs to sit a few more guys as well.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
i get the impression that shanny would like to be relieved of his duties but i also feel like he wants to leave it as best he can for the next guy.
the article saying he was prepared to leave before the seattle game but then when rg3 went down (which was a huge blow to the franchise) he didnt want to leave the skins in that condition kinda hits home ... i kinda get that. in his presser he didnt deny he wanted to leave before the game but did deny that he didnt clean out his office. putting rg3 on ice for 3 weeks to guarantee he doesnt get injured and will be 100% healthy and ready for a full offseason with the next coach seems like the best way to pass the baton. i think i would do that as well in his position. he also said he will talk with snyder (and i sure allen) about it. So if rg3 does sit, it will be a group decision for the best interest of the team and next HC. just doing it to stick it to dan seems too childish and petty. i dont think he is that kind of guy. now i do believe he would leak this story bc he was worried he might get canned before the season ended and want to jump the shark and get ahead of bad PR .. which is not cool but at least i can see some logic and motive in that vs just wanting to sit the rg3 to piss people off. he wants to hand this thing off as well as he can imo.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
Actually Shanahan is doing RGIII a favor. Pretty much everyone here has been complaining about all the hits RGIII has taken due to our shitty OL. Save him and left him recover for next year, they're going nowhere this year. Cousins might surprise.

If they all agree about sitting him then that's fine , I don't mind it if they really want to protect him and get him healthy, I also think he needs the reps though

Plus why not make some changes along the OL once and for all, and see if that works
