Ideally: Snyder sells the team to a good owner.

Dreaming: A good GM is hired, this mess gets fixed over the next couple seasons better than I could postulate.

Wouldn't mind: Haslett and Burns gone. Mike and Kyle And Bob and the rest of the organization all become BFFs.

What I expect: Shanny and Co. gone, the hope and usual mediocrity of the Snyder era follows.

What is one thing you really like about Mike Shanahan?

He and Kyle built a good offense. We just need RG3 healthy.

Is this really a good offense? -7.1% DVOA this year. Zorn's offenses posted an +8.2% in 2008 and -8.3% in 2009. Spurrier's offenses put up a -7.0% in 2002 and -6.7% in 2003.

This level of offense has gotten Snyder to change coaches before.

First off, DVOA is about as meaningful as ESPN's new Quarterback rating system. That being said, comparing one year to the next: 2012 DVOA when we had RG3 healthy for most of it: 16.1%

Stats I care about: 2012 offense was #5 in the NFL yds/G, #4 pts/G, and our rushing was #1 yds/G and #4 pts/G.

Tell me with RG3 healthy we aren't an offensive juggernaut.

With RG3 healthy we are not an offensive juggernaut.

I think if you can make a really good case in favor of this rushing offense being as strong as any, but the passing game was an adventure every one of the last four years. Even last year, I thought the passing game was sloppy and unproductive at 3-6. That changed on the seven game winning streak when they put in some spread plays that Griffin ran at Baylor, but they haven't used that part of the playbook this year, and we can't execute anything else.

The bigger point is that THIS LEVEL OF OFFENSE GETS PEOPLE FIRED. So whether or not the team is likely to rebound with an influx of talent and a more confident RG3 is irrelevant. Coaches know you can't let it sink to this level and keep your job. The Cousins play was the last bullet in the barrel. Shanahan is defenseless.

I'm not sure whether to agree with you about whether we ran the spread offense more late last season. But our offense was a juggernaut last season. To argue otherwise is historical revisionism. We went on a great run, and were kicking Seattle's *** until RG3 got hurt right before our second TD.

I know Shanny's overall record doesn't justify a 5th year here. I know our D and ST are ****. But now you're saying the offense is no good and others are talking about Shanny's "relationship" with RG3 as a factor in this situation?

This is classic Redskins under Snyder's ownership. Historical revisionism and blame-gaming.

Sure, let's fire another coach early, and be a circus here about "how it really went down".

No wonder we're a ****ing laughingstock.
