NO....emphatically!! I did 12 years ago. 11 years "out of the game" obviousley took it's toll/ Comebacks after that long are not possible, for players OR coaches. Plus he had Jack Kent Cook!! I say just wait: Brunell will flop and you will see Campbell> That is the Snyder Gibbs plan. AIfthey think they have a rookie phenomenon like Tom Brady, they are whistleing in the dark!

I wouldn't say that so fast 1st of all:

Brady was overlooked by every team in the league an average of 5 times during the draft.

He also didn't take over the pats until his second season.

I am not saying Campbell = Brady but you just don't know what JC is capable of.

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

its fine (and sensible) to trust coach Gibbs's conviction over your own. but stop pretending you've never questioned him.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU doubted Gibb's decision to keep Brunell in so long last year.

please stop claiming the bandwagon to yourselves this year or put an asterisk next to the slogans where you replace the word God for Gibbs.

I think SUNRA was pretty supportive of the decision if I remember correctly. And I'm sure there were many more.

So does that mean we can't change our minds??

Don't act like you've never changed your view on something when circumstances change or you see another side of things.

If Brunell plays well and the team is winning are you telling me you won't change your mind?

Or will you keep pointing to last year and keep insisting he sucks, even if he turns out to be improved over last year?

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

SUNRA has disputed Gibb's decisions on other things pretty recently, and also felt the heat of the sudden Gibbs 'born again'. as for many more, i'd love to see that poll. wonder if there's an archive.

point is anyone can change their minds, Gibbs too of course, just don't forget you once held a different point of view. there's been a lot of false righteousness on the board lately.

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

Personally, I've never said that I didn't think Brunell sucked last year... he did, I said it last year and I'm saying it now.

However, I'm not taking the view that he can't be improved this year. The anti-Brunell people keep pointing to last year, he did this last year, he did that last year, and keep insisting there's no possible way he can be improved.

This is the hand we've been dealt, personally I'd rather roll with it and see what happens rather than crying over what could have been. The decision has been made to go back to Brunell and I support it.

Just like you said, anyone can change their minds even Gibbs. Does that make him untrustworthy?

what poll are you talking about?

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

i'm pretty sure at this point everyone's hoping Brunell's improved. a lot.

it's not that, its just the slew of new arguments comparing Gibbs to a infallible football God. its an argument Gibbs himself wouldn't agree with, and they're coming from a lot of previous semi 'heretics'.

as an example, some of the issues some us less religious types brought up, like the lack of a big receiver on the roster, turned out to be very real. Gibbs went as far as making Sean Taylor the solution.

ingenious if you ask me, but still the question was FAIR TO BRING UP. just as the Brunell one was. this year as well as last year.

early on this thread I asked what a poll that asked "did you trust Gibbs LAST YEAR?" would look like.

seems a lot of people have confused faith with trust, and just because we want the answers means we aren't fans or back coach Gibbs. not only is that wrong, its also inappropriate considering some of the sources. that's all.

So how would you answer the question "Do you have faith in Gibbs?"

100% yes. if we're lucky enough to keep him around long enough he will turn this ship completely around. but it'd be foolish to think it won't be without mistakes, especially in his first years back to an unfamiliar NFL. like Brunell was last year, and very well could be again this year.

So wouldn't it be natural to think that if you have faith in him that you trust him?

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

I do. He has always shown the ability to adapt. Gibbs is a man of honor and his players respect him. He know how to get player to play hard for him and he is surrounded with a quality staff.

I just said I expect some early mistakes, so no I don't trust all his early decisions. again, Brunell last year is a perfect example. well, take the whole OFFENSE last year as an example. I also think Gibbs is mortal and may possess human flaws. for instance I haven't totally discounted personal pride as a factor with Brunell.

still, I'm looking forward to him surprising me like he did when he solved (albeit not 100%) the big receiver problem some of us (including SUNRA) perceived by adding Sean Taylor to the red zone offense. eventually, I have total faith he'll get it all right. until then, I think he'll get most of it right.
