SOOO delicious. We'll work harder tomorrow since it's not a work day. Should be nice, have 2 one pound steaks and a couple filets that we're gonna' grill for lunch. If we haven't taken care of at least a half of that handle, we have failed.

Based on what? Your scouting report? I have a feeling the Raiders are much worse on the OL than we are.

If you guys want "instant contributors" from 3rd rounders, I have no idea what league you've been watching. Mostly everybody passed the first two rounds are developmental players. Hell, even some 2nd rounders are as well. If they catch on quick and are able to start, it's a bonus.

All i'm saying is were gonna have a hard time blocking those 3 at one time effectively. If Clowneys not a complete bum, which I fully believe he is, Houston helped their D immensely? Did you not see how Seattle won the SB last year? Nasty up front and solid on the back end of the D. Just saying it for sure isnt gonna be a cake walk.
It's probably not going to be a cakewalk, but you're comparing a team with an elite defense at all levels and a good offense (Seattle), versus a team that just acquired some good pieces on defense and has a HUGE question mark on offense.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3

nfldraftscout.com on Spencer Long:

"He is a nasty mauler with aggressive hands and is the type of blocker who fights through the echo of the whistle and grinds on every snap. Long shows good quickness off the snap, can get to the second level and wastes little time attacking, but has stiff hips and lacks ideal flexibility when he gets out in space. Although he's not shy about engaging and getting feisty with his limbs, Long needs to do a better job staying balanced and latching on to control defenders. He isn't a household name, even in Big Ten country, but he might be the best interior blocker out of the Big Ten."

I don't know about the rest of you, but I wanted nasty players and apparently that's what he is. So I got what I wanted, in that respect. Is he healthy? Can he play? I dunno. We'll see.

I felt going into the draft that if the FO only picked players that I know something about then they must not be doing a very good job. We'll see about that, as well. It looks to me like the FO is just ranking the players and picking them as ranked regardless of any round projections by the so-called experts.

Successful draft is about a balance of value of picks, needs, and bpa. No prob with Murph or Moses picks. Spence likely could've been taken later and Skins could've filled a desperate need at S with a good value player in Brooks at 78.

Is it ok that some not be happy with the pick? Lol. The guys who do this for a living were scratching their heads. There were without a doubt people there that could have started and contributed. Now maybe this guy can, but Signs point to no rite now. Again its a crapshoot. All we have to base our opinions on rite now are what we read and hear about him, and none of it points to get up and dance. Sorry.

The Texans D was fantastic year before last when ol Bum2.0 was there. They have some good offensive players, I like hopkins a ton. Losing Tate I think is gonna bite them in the ass cuz Foster IMO just isnt as good anymore. I wasn't trying to compare the two teams really, just the way their drafting is inside that model. Didn't address the secondary but as long as their DL does what it should, they'll be much better. Schaub throwing 2 pick sixes a game last year didn't help them either......

Early prediction?

I think we win but only because theres no way you can cover everybody on our offense now effectively. Here's hoping the OL gels well and can keep our boy upright.

And they could very well pick up a safety tomorrow with that early 4th rounder.

Personally, the only pick that should warrant a response like what we've seen from some people today is a really bad first round pick, since a first rounder is almost always expected to contribute significantly and even start. From the second round on, it could go either way in my opinion.

Fair enough. I remember when people said that the Lions line was going to epic a while back and they were not. Unless the Texans get a decent QB, I don't think having all that firepower in the d-line is going to get them that far.
