Re: Duke Ihenacho claimed by Redskins

Love the potential for Ihenacho.. But I'm hoping he's not another Rambo.. As Lotus mentioned, his weakness seems to be coverage, I guess that works okay if we use him at strong safety.

Here's stuff from Denver:

Ihenacho seemed to be on the losing end, any time a ball was thrown his way. If there was a key first down, or TD, it seemed to come at his expense. As much as Ihenacho thrives in the box, close to the line of scrimmage, he’s a liability in coverage.... Per ProFootballFocus, Ihenacho earned a -6.9 overall grade and a pitiful -6.3 in pass coverage last year, as he started 18 of the Broncos 19 games, including playoffs.

when i see a secondary player with high tackle numbers, im worried they dont react/read plays well and are usually a step late to make a play on the ball but there for the tackle.

i am very happy we signed this guy but what we need is a sideline-to-sideline FS which i think, in the current passing NFL, is now one of the most important positions on either side of the ball.

i fear a lot of our d schemes are going to be hog-tied bc our corners are going to need help on top but our safeties arent very good to begin with so are we going to play tampa 2 all day? i guarantee the side of the field w/out safety help is the side of the field that will be picked on and repeatedly abused.

Re: the bolded, that's more a function of a front 7 not doing its job than anything else.
