My pick at 5 would be Randy Gregory or Shane Ray. I think either player would be a huge upgrade to our pass rush.

Todd McShay says Ray should be the pick. He thinks the best OL of this draft should not picked till #10. We do need a pass rusher as well as OL.

You don't pick a right tackle at #5, anyway. Right tackles are taken in the 20's of the first round and in later rounds.

It's a lot of very talented players that will be available on the interior line when we pick in the second round. We can get a day one starter at C or OG. At the first pick we have to get better up front on either side of the ball. The best player on the board will likely be a pass rusher. I think we really got a chance to do with our first two picks. What do you think?

According to CBS Sports, Gregory's closest NFL comparison is Aldon Smith, who was drafted by San Francisco, undoubtedly using a draft board that had plenty of McC input, with the 7th overall pick in 2011. Probably irrelevant, but interesting...

I still think if Leonard Williams isn't available, we need to trade back. You know there will be plenty of teams interested in moving up to #5, and we need lots of talent. Gaining several more high picks(a 2nd, a 3rd, maybe another future high pick) would be much wiser than taking a project OLB or a RT that high IMO. Williams is the exception because in my opinion, he's by far the best defender in the class as well as a safe bet.

I don't think it's wise to leave an elite pass rusher on the board. Due to the fact that they're harder to come by. In my opinion Shane Ray and Randy Gregory has the potential to be elite pass rushers. This team needs a pass rush just as much as we need OL help. With all of the issues we had in 2014 with our pass rusher I'm going to get the best rusher available. If someone is offering a good trade to come up to 5, I'll take it. However, I wouldn't just make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. We did that in 2011, and it cost us JJ Watt, an MVP caliber defender.

Smith was drafted by Baalke.
