I'll take it if they do in fact follow through on their bitch to play against/competitive mantra.

Past few years have been embarrassing. Not just losses, but lack of compete level was disgusting.

Winning makes drama ok. Just ask Patriot fans. Lol. Now that
KC is our appointed starter and he has a couple weeks before the season starts I feel myself wanting to sip the kool aid. Last week i would not of thought it completely out of the realm of possibilities that we might not win a single game. Suddenly i find myself thinking like a complete idiot and wondering things like "why cant this team make the playoffs" and " hey anything can happen if you get in " and "i wonder if i will have enough vacation time to get to the parade?"
All of these idiotic things i am thinking arent just because of KC - as I really cant get away from the idea that we still do not have a QB, but I just feel like as a team we are going to rally around him and understand that we need to come together and play as a team. An idea that seems to go by the wayside when Griff is under center.

Re: It's REALLY here: PreSeason PostRG3 Prediction Poll

Because it appeared the Redskins did great in free agency that combined in some blind faith that Griffin had improved, because that $16 mil option was picked up I was thinking 9-7. Then RG3 looked like a deer in the headlights, Galette and a few others are lost for the season, Goldson appears to have lost a step (he could not afford to) and Culliver was getting beat and committing penalties. Then I am like, "4-12 here we go again."

Fast forward to the present I still believe there will be defense and special team
issues, but the running game looks solid, Captain Kirk appears to be improved
and it looks like we won't be playing revolving QBs, I will go back up to 7-9.

SM said there's no reason we can't win now, I believe Cousins did a lot of work on improving his game in the off-season and it will show, I think this defense will put more pressure on the QB, the offensive line will jell and we'll run the hell out of the ball and see some great play action with an improved receiving corps. Morris, Jones and Thompson will have some lanes to run through....WTF, 10-6 playoffs. B&G koolaide is my favorite.

Re: It's REALLY here: PreSeason PostRG3 Prediction Poll

OK, I'm trying the optimistic approach this year.

I added 4 more wins (2 for the QB switch & 2 for the way the team hung tough after a terrible start in Baltimore)...predicting a 10-win season.

We have a great o-line coach and the o-line will only get better.
The D-line is stoudt and if Chris Baker is a back-up, then you've got a pretty good line.

LB's look pretty solid (how about Jeffcoat lately!).

I'm reserved to the fact that we'll give up lots of passing yards, but hopeful we can keep the big plays to a minimum & get some opportunistic turn overs.

There is still some work to do on ST's, but that can be fixed and no team is perfect.

I still think best case 7 wins. KC has a lot to prove.

I think most importantly there won't be those games where we are expecting the Skins to have no chance of winning. If Kirk throws his A game and the defense gets a few breaks there aren't any unbeatable opponents.

Last year Sunday would roll around and I would be thinking "Do I really want to watch the Skins get creamed again?"

6-7. I was against the JG signing at first. But him getting hurt really hurts the defense. We need a pass rush in the worst way and w/out one I'm not sure those guys in the back end can hold up. We may see a lot of 35-31 type games.

If you look at last years results we easily could have been 9-7. 10-6 if you considered the Seattle game winnable. That was with a revolving door at QB and imo a lesser talent pool on the roster. Thats the optimistic me. The pessimistic me thinks I say the same thing every year.

It's a fine line in professional sports, especially the salary cap leagues.

The NFL and NHL especially are brutally tough on teams being able to sustain and stay in playoff spots. The margin between winning and losing is extremely small.

MLB and NBA are getting there but still favor the big dogs.

So you aren't crazy...the difference between 6-10 and 10-6 can really come down to your schedule and a few clutch plays. The 10-6 chiefs in Reid's first year are the poster child for this. Not a great team but got some early clutch plays to get to 3-0 start. Gibbs v2.0 team that started 3-0 also similar...

Yeah our schedule this year is far from easy so we are going to need to stay healthy from this point on for the most part. We are also going to need to play smart and get lots of those clutch plays to bounce or go our way. Absolutely cannot afford to beat ourselves like we so often do.

Wouldn't it be awesome if he came in threw for 4,000 yards and 30 TDs?

(I think it may be time to stop drinking)

I'm looking forward to seeing this in the "I was wrong" thread at the end of the season. Still, a fan can dream. I don't think it'll happen this year but it definitely would be nice.

I would be the first to admit I was wrong if he succeeds. To be honest that could happen... but there also might be 25 interceptions to go along with those 30 touchdowns.
