I think that pre snap thing is just like Andy Dalton. I read an article by Peter King where NFL executives and coaches said Andy Dalton was almost on the same level as Manning and Brady with pre snap reads, but was one of the worst QBs when reading an offense post snap. I think Kirk might have that syndrome.

This is very accurate. He is great when things are post snap as he predicts pre-snap. When he has to make decisions on the fly when things change he's a disaster waiting to happen.

too bad mark brunell was only good for like 2 games a year at that point. still, your point stands.
Got a little choked up when I saw Sean Taylor's name in the stats. It still stings.

that game against SF was awesome we actually kicked ass the entire game.

The dallas game was better though because they had a chance at the playoffs that yr as well and we destroyed them

Imagine what this board (and the Phins board) would look like if we somehow torched the Phins by 30. Folks here will be talking playoffs and the Phins phans will want to phry Philbin over a phire. (I didn't really write that; someone took over my keyboard.) And we'd all be crazy.

I don't want to say we lose until I see Kirk play the whole game, I believe he can be our Andy Dalton of this offense, nothing special but a good QB

When we win by 20, we should be able to change our season record prediction.

Re: WEEK 1 : Redskins vs Dolphins Prediction Thread

Week 1 Kool-Aid is always the strongest. 28-13 Redskins. Keep reading about their front, I think our pass rush will get to them. We can make Tannehill make some mistakes.

Re: WEEK 1 : Redskins vs Dolphins Prediction Thread

I am predicting 21-17 Skins.

Defense is improved and holds them to 17 or less. Kirk manages the game and does a nice job getting the ball out quick and spreading it around. Djax will get a quick 6, Matt Jones will get a goal line carry and get his first TD. Jordan Reed catches a pass over the middle for 6 before pulling a hammy.

Re: WEEK 1 : Redskins vs Dolphins Prediction Thread

A lot of question marks going into this game on defense for me.

I have to assume the defense will better if only because they were so bad last year.

w/ Hatcher+Knighton+Paea+Ryan we have a strong front on paper. But how will Barry use them? Can another pass rusher emerge from Trent Murphy, Preston Smith and my fav of the trio Jeffcoat?

Will we get the Dash from Tampa or the Dash from the 49ers?

Will Hall look better then he's looked during preseason?

Will Amerson get his play to match with his talent?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miami only had average run defense last year. I'm sure Suh makes them better in this regard but on the ground is their most vulnerable area. I guess we'll see if all the talk about a strong running game and sticking to run holds true.

Kirk has to protect the ball. The coaches have to call a gameplan to protect him, they can't put this game all on his shoulders. When we throw Kirk's ability to get the ball out quick is gonna be paramount because the Maimi pass rush is formidable. Game plan should account for this accordingly with RB screen, WR screens and RB draws and movement passes. No turnovers!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crowder and the return team needs to give us better starting field position. Starting field position can really help scoring. Starting a drive from the 20+ instead of -20 is often the difference between a punt and a field goal.

Game changers--Score on special teams or defense. Defense creating a turnover. Big explosive 30-40+ yard TD on offense.

Re: WEEK 1 : Redskins vs Dolphins Prediction Thread

13-9 Dolphins. We can only manage 3 field goals when Capt. Kirk isn't turning the ball over or having 3 and outs. Somehow we hold a late lead 9-6 until Tannehill drives down the field at the end to score the game winning td. Suh and co. wreak havoc on our offensive line, to start off what turns into being the best free agent acquisition in history not named Manning or Brees.

@Chris_Worthy_: Several INTs from the 1st and 2nd string QBs today. Should be a topic to bring up at 1:30 with Jay

Re: WEEK 1 : Redskins vs Dolphins Prediction Thread

Dolphins 24, Redskins 21.

KC goes 19 of 29 for 210 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs

Running game is mostly ineffective averaging 3.5 yards a carry.

Secondary plays well but gives up a few key plays.

O-line looks rough but serviceable, gives up 3 sacks.

Redskins hold 21-14 lead in mid 3rd quarter but Dolphins score 10 unanswered.
