He is the best player at his position and probably the 2nd best player that is not a QB.

Re: Around the Nfl week 1

From cbssports.com:

The timing for Pittsburgh's headset issues on Thursday was something else, coming on the heels of a report last week about the Patriots trying to gain an advantage by any means necessary, including headset frequencies. It was almost funny, unless you're Mike Tomlin.

The Steelers coach was borderline irate during his postgame press conference, saying it's "always the case" in New England to deal with headset/connection issues.

Here's the full exchange between Tomlin and reporters at Gillette:

Mike there was a report that your radio went out?

“That's always the case.”

Here?

“Yes.”

So you're saying every time you play here you have rad—

“I said what I said.”

Mike what exactly happened, you just didn't have any communication?

“We were listening to the Patriots radio broadcast for the majority of the first half. On our headsets.”

It's easy to accuse the Patriots of cheating every time something goes wrong just as it's easy to give to credit to god when things go right. Sometimes you want something to be true so bad that you'll only accept that as the possible cause.

One minute Belichick is a genius the next he's such a bumbling idiot that he would jam radios during a time when everything he does is under a microscope?

The Pats aren't unbeatable. Teams beat them all the time. You want to win? quit spending so much time making excuses and beat them. Radio communication had zero to do with Gronk being wide open half the game.

Steelers safety play looked familiar. Missed assignments, not communicating, poor tackling...Their corner play wasnt much better, but the safety play stood out. That guy Mitchell who we wanted at safety is effing terrible.

Looks especially bad when a top 5 QB in the history of the league is throwing the ball.

Re: Around the Nfl week 1

Anyone else annoyed that they did all these interviews with the Patriots players asking them about the controversies in the past and they were like, "Oh, we rose about Spygate, we rose above Deflategate, and now we're back on track." So you're just saying, "Yup, even all those times we cheated, we're OK with that and we're back"? So weak. Wanted the Steelers to pound them, but you can't do that when you play pitch and catch with Gronk.

What is it with these fucking guys.
Off the Steelers website:

"The broadcast was so loud that the Steelers coaches were unable to communicate, and the NFL rule is that if one team’s headsets are not working the other team is supposed to be forced to take their headsets off. It’s what the NFL calls the Equity Rule. Strangely enough, whenever an NFL representative proceeded to the New England sideline to shut down their headsets, the Steelers headsets cleared. Then as the representative walked away from the New England sideline, the Steelers’ headsets again started to receive the Patriots game broadcast"

funny yesterday i believe it was DP who brought up teams past accusations against the pats using radio jammers at gillette.

Re: Around the Nfl week 1

I remember Parcells being pissed at Walsh because 'mysteriously' their sideline communications never worked at Candlestick. With the modern technological advancements its funny that teams are allowed to get away with this. Bellitrix will push the boundaries as far as you let him.

And its not like they didn't work at all, they played the Patriots broadcast which is an extra little jab in itself.

if true, the pats can go fuck themselves.

its a billion dollar industry and they cant get the most secure non-tamper headsets?

i read an article where it laid how it easy it would be for a common fan to bring a jammer or mess with the system from the stands.

just play football. stop the petty "catch me if you can" and "rub it in your face" BS.

really tired of the Pats and unexplained coincidences favoring them.

eveyr home team should fuck with their communications ... but im sure the pats probably bring a road audio team with them.

Re: Around the Nfl week 1

Whatever…so predictable because of the cheating label.
Tomlin gets owned because his defense and play calling sucks and he blames it on his headset and some communication shenanigans (that are controlled by the league).
Whatever….that will be the scapegoat every time someone loses to New England.
I suppose the headset made Scobee miss too.

The again, there was one of these in the area during the game.

That doesnt mean the pats cant jam or mess with the signal. it seems like anyone with $150 bucks to spend can mess with the signal.

FedEx has had it's share of mic issues too. But given the circumstances of course people are going to look at the Patriots with an accusing eye.

Re: Around the Nfl week 1

Can we just start a Patriot scandal thread so it doesn't over run every NFL thread we have. I could give a flying fawk about the Pats or their supposed cheating. That is NFL chatter my mom talks about, save that shit for Star Magazine.

Re: Around the Nfl week 1

the NFL systems are a wireless signal of....some kind. most likely a digital signal. I do not know much about the technical end of such things BUT these types of signals can be subject to many types of....innocent interference. Not the least of which is other, potentially stronger radio type signals.
You can bank on the NFL having about 40 techies today trying to determine the source of the problem.......
BUT since it's BB and the Pats.......very shaky
