Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread
No reason to be mad or down about this game most people had us losing big. Skins are at least competitive this yr. We all said 7 wins would be an improvement so I don't see y anyone would be shocked with a loss on the road to a 5-0 team

More like Middle School D-Rave. HTTR tough loss but I kinda starting to grow on this defense a little. Just a little

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread
The great - we are way better than last year.
The good - missing some guys, minus the last drive in 4th quarter, defense played well. The bad - the decision to play prevent defense on the road against a loaded offense. Show some originality, dial up some pressure, aka man up! Cousins accuracy. It leaves a lot to be desired.

HOW ABOUT THIS SIMPLE TRUTH!! WE LOST TO A DAMN BETTER TEAM..they are 5-0 we were 7 point underdogs and took it to overtime..dang it some of you fans just don't get it..all you want to do is blow the team up every year and start over.

Agree! I think the Skins have turned the corner and are moving forward .It was a great game and I realize it doesn't make anyone feel better but the Skins are for real and it's a long season as I have always said it's where you finish that matters.

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread
We had the game in hand and just could not seal the deal. Kirk did not have the best day and the Run game was.....ill
Still, we damn near put enough together on the backs of our Defense (several of whom were enjoying their first NFL start) which was....devoid of several key players. Not to mention injuries to key offensive guys... I'm ok with it Last year we would have coughed it up on the bad side of 34-3 We DAMN near have a Football team.......HTTR

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread
I think we're close but still searching for a winning formula
Sometimes playcalling is sharp sometimes not Sometimes we get pass rush sometimes not Ditto penalties, explosive plays, etc 22 carries in a ballgame this close doesn't meet the standard for me Have to be more creative with the run game, less predictable....run from spread formations not just base on 1st down...surprise them with pass on 1st...don't be afraid to call back to back runs.....mesh the base pass offense and the base run offense to function from some of the same formations...don't be afraid to run against 8man fronts we did it against the Rams and seemed to put that game plan on the shelf...give A RB enough carries to get a rhythm. I don't care anymore if its Alf or Jones but give 1 of them the bulk Gotta get better in the run game if we're gonna win this year |

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread
I listened to the first half but my kids had races in the afternoon so I missed most of second half. During first half thought D played well, O was off though. When KC was placing the ball Garcon had some crucial drops. KC still struggled with some accuracy and the running game just couldn't get it going. Bottom line we had an opportunity to walk away with more than 7 pts in the first and we just couldn't finish the deal.

Re: Redskins v. Falcons Gameday Thread
Then the rule is wrong. He took two steps, he launched/lunged for the TD, and he had clear control of the ball when he brought it back to his body. I don't know how the rule should be written, only that it needs to be written in such a way that a rational replay view can call that a touchdown.
I still believe that the answer is full time refs with rational rules. Having competent full time refs that look at enough tape that they "know it when they see it", and rules that allow for the obvious right call to be made would make the game more enjoyable. |
