Re: Portis
I Still Do Think Portis Is A Good Back. And I Still Do Believe He Will Get His 1000 Yards And Be A Very Good Option At Rb For Years To Come ,but He Needs To Score Tds.its Just That Simple.dont You Think That During Gibbs First Tenure As The Skins Coach Other Teams Were Stacking 8 Or 9 In The Box???. We Still Were Able To Punch It In On The Ground.and I Do Think Your Right Bigskinsbauer About The Offense As A Whole, But Come On Portis We Want Some Tds.NOW

Until Brunell can burn teams with Moss, Patten, and Cooley they will still stack the box because they know what Portis can do and what Brunell can not do... Also you compare CP to LT, which I can see similarities. But then you say that Portis is not worth his contract, well who would you like to have? I mean remember when Gibbs came in T. Candidate was our starting RB, and with the second round pick we gave up for CP Denver got T. Bell and look at how well he is doing this year. Some say well we could have possibily got E. James or S. Alexander which may be true, but look at how many years they have been in the league and how old they already are, remember Portis just turned like 24 years old he is still young yet.

Re: Portis
Portis can not run the ball because we are gettin 8-9 men fronts. Besides the two deep balls to Moss and "the boys" we haven't made teams pay for it. Once we start making plays 20 to 30 yards down the field and make people respect our deep passing game, thats what we are going to see. I would like to see Cooley more involved in the passing game. I like his match up against safeties and LBs. this would also give Portis some room. Also, do we not know what sweep or screen is. Portis needs the ball in space, that is his strength. But, you have to give portis credit. He added about 20lbs of muscle this offseason and is sticking it right up the gut and between the tackles. I dont think we will be able to stretch the field this week, unless its Patten, but look for alot of the against KC. This week is going to be pound the ball, roll outs for 10 or 15 yard, workman like moving the ball and GREAT DEFENSE!!.
