Re: Cousins has arrived
Players, QBs evolve.
There is a progression happening. Kirk didn't have his best game yesterday. He missed some reads, missed some throws (behind, high etc) made some bad decisions (delay of game at the goal line) lost a fumble and took some uncharacteristic sacks. I bet if asked he would admit the above.... It was Kirk's first playoff game though, it doesn't change anything that happened during the season it doesn't change who/what Kirk accomplished. In some respects its a reminder that he still has some room for growth. I also think the gameplan/playcalling didn't help him out...but it was this staff's 1st playoff game together too. |

You were one of the guys that dissed me when I expressed my concern over griffin way back in 2013, and if I remember correctly continue to support Griffin probably all the way up to training camp this year, so for you to not support Griffin now and take up for cousins is laughable. And no I am not taking up for Griffin, I've been saying he wasn't that good for a long time now,I just find it very ironic for you to chide me over expressing my concerns about Cousins. All I am saying is I have some concerns about cousins, and not being able to beat a team over 500 is something to be concerned about. I have been on the kirk bandwagon since the first game so I am not a Kirk hater, and I do want us to re-sign him, but I know it's going to take a shit load of money and I don't think we've seen enough body of work to invest that much money in him, but we put ourselves in the position that we have no choice.

Nothing wrong with having some concerns as long as they're legit. You have a history of exaggerating and your concerns now are a little over the top. Did you see his development the last few months? Why did one game where he didn't even play that bad become such a concern? The Redskins haven't beaten a team with a winning record with Cousins at the helm is the more accurate way to put it. Nobody wins or loses alone. His play yesterday was a reflection of the entire offense. They were off, not just him. |

Re: Cousins has arrived
Question is do you tie up $20m next year or much less with a multi year deal?

Re: Cousins has arrived
Now we've got Hoyer under center and a guy we should let walk if he wants more than 1 year at $10m. FFS.

Lmao. Thats ok. Last night when we still had the damn lead everyone on our team was a pos. Listen I know we have a long history of suck behind us, but there are a few big differences rite now in 2016 that are in play. 1) DS is pretty much staying quiet and out of the picture. 2) Scot McCloughan is a far damn cry from Vinnie effing Cerrato. 3) We have a full compliment of draft picks. 4) Not only are we out of cap hell but we actually have money to do what we need to do. 5) We have a young QB who - in his first year at the helm- did a pretty god damned good job. I dont give a shit who he beat or what their freaking record was. 6) We will have stability at the coaching position, and the players play hard for the man. 7) We are the defending NFC East Champs and the Eagles and Giants are looking for their next head coaches while the Cowboys are pinning their hopes once again on a healthy Tony Romo to come back and lead their team to the Superbowl. Lol! 8) HTTR! |

Re: Cousins has arrived
I've noticed on other sites as well but people need to get over the whole RG3-Kirk BS, KC is wayyyyyy better as a passer and its not even close. RG3 is a good dude with a good heart but when u have guys like Ryan Clark come out and say he's all about his brand, that says alot about his team standpoint. Clark was the same guy that praised Kirk's work ethic.

No I'm not taking it personally,I just remember you taking up for Griff amid my concerns(which by the way all turned out to be prophetic)way back when and continued to do so all the way up to Kirk being named the starter. As far as you saying you support whoevers in the lineup its as simple as that,I cannot understand or comprehend that reasoning.I'm all for supporting your team but when someone's playing poorly and your making excuses for them or disagreeing with other people about their poor play just because they are in the lineup makes no sense to me. Yes I did exaggerate about Cousins being compared to Hoyer and I admitted that,as far as a history of over exaggeration,we will have to disagree about that too. It's not just one game that has me concerned,it's his career as a whole. Yes he has great strides this season. Yes the whole team was off yesterday, but Cousins throws in the 2nd half we're some of his worst since I don't know when, and if not for that amazing catch by Reed he would have had a pick 6,and it would have been very interesting to see how he would have handled it if that would have happened. Hopefully it was just 1st timer playoff pressure getting to him and he will learn from it and be a better qb. I guess reading about his having never beaten a team with a winning record combined with what I thought was a mostly bad 2nd half yesterday made me post what I did. I guess what I should have said is I have my concerns over paying Kirk a shitload of money for someone who's never beaten a winning team and his body of work IMO is not long enough to warrant signing him to what might be top 5 qb pay,but at this point we have no choice but to do that or slap the franchise tag on him.

Good for you bro, you're a prophet. Pat yourself on the back. Maybe you'll be right again. I'm not talking about supporting a guy no matter what. I had plenty of concerns about RG3 going back to the injury. Cousins is still coming into his own, but I'm ok with committing to him and seeing what happens. |

Cousins throws in the second half were his worst since several weeks ago. You know why? Because he has been playing out of his freaking mind. He had a few off throws. He also had a couple dropped, and a td taken away because djax stuck his foot in without the ball. As far as amazing catches, yeah Reed bailed him out. So too did David Tyree for Eli Manning. Eli won an mvp trophy because of it. So what? Who cares? You know how many "near" interceptions are thrown on a weekly basis by quarterbacks in the NFL? You just have to realize that this "never beat a winning team" bullshit is based on probably 12 games? Most of which were played with a 4 win team that couldn't even beat bad teams! It is the dumbest stat ever all things considered. Also - as far as yesterdays second half goes - if not for our piss poor defense he just might not have been pressing so much. If not for our non existent run game he just might have had a more honest defense to throw the ball against. You just cannot dismiss these things. |
