I like this gamble better than the Giants gamble of Janoris Jenkins 62 million. or Byron Maxwell 63 million or Joe Hadden (immensely overated) 67 million....

that was my initial fear but then I started to look into it, and He is the prototypical Scot corner so while I have little doubt that Danny boy wanted him and is in full support, this has Scot written all over it.

This is not the first big money corner he has signed as a GM so it is not unusual for him to do this. He loves big physical corners with attitude.

49ers make Clements NFL's highest-paid defender ever

It took a monster deal to lure cornerback Nate Clements to Monster Park, but on the opening day of the NFL free-agent period, the San Francisco 49ers delivered, agreeing with the most coveted player in the market on a landmark contract.

McC's done this before folks

Janoris Jenkins, Byron Maxwell, they are good corners but they are not game changers.

Norman was FIRST TEAM ALL PRO.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016

If we get him, just hope Norman performs better than Clements did. I kind of remember him being the top corner at one point and he went there and just did OK.

I LIKE that he does fit what we do, but I worry about the dynamic in the locker room when you're giving someone a giant contract. I guess we've earned enough goodwill extending our own that people wouldn't think "same ol' Skins" again.

FWIW, Junior Gallette has told fans to come and greet Norman as he visits and said lets get this deal done

Chris Baker tweeted out "Pay the man" about Norman.

Norman is an emotional leader in that Panther lockerroom. No worries about fit.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016

Ahh, love hearing that. If two people with deals ending this year are saying that, that's not a worry for me then.

That ended up badly too. Doesn't give me much confidence in the move lol

He wasn't terrible, but the point is McC is not afraid to make a big move.
