And I refuted the fact that we aren't safer now than we were 4 or 8 years ago, sorry but the overall numbers support that. Violent crime has been on the decline since 91 and an occasional uptick does not mean we're in a death spiral. I certainly never discounted the fact violence is a major issue in some places or said that everything is fine and dandy. But again, big picture violent crime has been tending down for quite some time.

Trump painted a very dark picture last night and as usual used a very broad brush. He's tapped into people's fears very well... fear of crime, terrorism, immigrants, etc. And of course he has all the answers to fix it.

Sadly there are a lot of small minded people out there eating this up hook line and sinker.
