This team is so demoralizing to watch. Even when they are doing well, I feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Cutting Hopkins does nothing to solve the real problem... scoring in the redzone. Hopkins has been a nice find, I wouldn't cut him off one miss and I think that sends the wrong message anyway. |

What we are is competitive. Right now, I'd say there are fewer than half a dozen teams in the league that I'd expect to dominate us in any given game. That's real progress. All year I've been trying to keep my emotions in check because i believe we are still one off-season (one FA period and one Draft) away from becoming a perennial contender. If we compete for a playoff spot this season, it's gravy, as far as I'm concerned. Rash changes in the coaching staff or player personnel is the last thing I want to see right now. We're headed in the right direction, so I'd hate to see the decision-makers rock the boat during the season. The off-season is the time to make all of those assessments and decisions, IMO.

He's not that stupid. It was a smart-ass remark reflecting his frustration. Jay Gruden is a keeper, IMO. Now, as for some of his assistants, he needs to take a hard look, in the off-season, on whether or not they should be retained.

Actually I like what Barry did yesterday. He's so inconsistent with his playcalling, but yesterday he was sending guys and getting after Dalton. Where was that last week???

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.
Would anyone be complaining about coaching and so on if Hopkins makes that kick?

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.
I think the bottom line is we are this: an average team trending in the right direction the past couple of years. Our offense is great. Our defense has some talent, but still has a bunch of holes to overcome.
We DEFINITELY get unlucky, but someone else was saying it, the good teams overcome bad/dumb luck. I'm happy with the direction the team is going in, even though I wish the rest of the NFCE wasn't going in the right direction as well.

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.
this hand checking calls on Norman were crazy..i saw one that looked legit. But the CB is allowed to punch, grab and touch the receiver within 5 yards of the los. I don't get how this technique that Josh has practiced time and time again is all of a sudden illegal in this one game?
where is the fuckin consistency in this league with the officiating? Im so effin pissed about this crap.

Agree with everything. We are 110% in the mix not only for the division but for a wildcard midway through. Fuck Hopkins though. He has a noodle leg, and he needs to go. Norman got absolutely toasted yesterday. He is no Revis. Not even close. We need him but he is not worth his paycheck. |

While I am mad at Hopkins we have seen this narrative before, we cut a kicker based off one miss and he becomes a pro bowl kicker for another team. The scoring in the red zone thing is worrying me more, we are top 5 in pass yards, yards per play, and top 7 in 3rd down conversions but 28th in red zone TD pct. that I don't get. That needs to sure up quickly.

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.
Folks calling for Hopkins to go need to effing chill. Doesn't solve sh*t right now.
Lets regroup on the bye...Folks like Jones, Hopkins need to get a chance to get their head right....some others need to heal their body.....and even others to spend a little time in the film room or with staff to work on game for a better impact the second half of the season (IM LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU PRESTON SMITH AND BREELAND)
