Yeah it was just futile when he was in the game. I swear I remember wondering if he could throw the ball further than 20 yards because he never even attempted to. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Mine was any time he threw a pass ever, didn't matter the game. He made me long for the Danny Wuerffel days lol.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Why in the hell did Shanahan go with Beck? I mean what did he see that we didn't see. I totally remember Beck and how i just had the worst feeling that year, i felt like we were basically held hostage by the QB position.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Because he wanted to tank the season for picks

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Well this is at least a bit of good news...
Report: Redskins will use franchise tag on Cousins absent long-term deal http://www.thescore.com/news/1167073

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
In 2011 Shanahan could have made a run a Gabbert or Ponder. He didn't. He knew they weren't worth drafting and waited a year for the better QB class.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
With all the talk of Cousins future contract how do you guys feel it will effect the other players and the cap situation..something will have to give ..what high paid redskins will become expendable and how will this effect the team.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
That's y u have to draft well and keep your own guys. Djax will probably be a casualty due to kirks deal

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Saying goodbye to Hall, Lichtensteiger, Lauvao, Jackson, won't be hard. Should clear some cap space in addition to the cap space growing we will be fine. These guys can be replaced, Jackson too.

So if he is tagged again, that is the last time they can tag him right, which means potentially in 2018 Kirk can sign with any team?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
tagging cousins again is a bad move, in my opinion. it could leave a bad taste in his mouth, and make him want to try free agency. his mindset could be the skins dont trust him, and want him to prove his play every year. no upper tiered QB would be ok with that

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
At this point, if we franchise him again it's essentially making his contract a 2yr 59Million guaranteed (24mil this year, FT value of 35mil next year.) We need to sign him up for 6 years, and get his guaranteed number around 75m.
He's making himself a very expensive qb. Still need to sign him. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
If we tag him at $24M next year, we'll still have another $26M in space BEFORE cutting Hall, Lichtensteiger and any others.
I've been saying this for a long time - salary cap is not a constraint now that McCloughan is building via the draft.
