Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I may have a faulty memory, but I thought Cooley said he didn't think Kirks poor play was about his contract. He said Kirk didn't respond well to the pressure of this game, he didn't want to say it was a choke, just that Kirk was too scared of making a mistake and missed a lot. But I thought he made it clear that in his opinion it was not because of the contract situation

One of the other things they mentioned on the Int to Harris. He was shocked that KC was even was looking at that side of the field, since Harris was by himself on the 3 by 1 formation. I found that the most interesting, cause it was obviously an easy td had KC just looked where he was suppose to look. Anyhow, not a good way for KC to end the season. I still 100% believe he's our starter and should be paid in the low 20 million dollar range, or just south of Luck money. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Time to watch Nate Sudfeld highlights and get amped up and psyched out.
I'm secretly hoping Cousins has a Panthers/Norman type situation and SM let's him go. Why? Because he is going to get way more than he's worth from us or some other team. I rather have it be another team. And no, I don't have the answer for who starts, but I don't want to over pay out of fear. We can find someone.

Where are you going to get this cheap QB who can lead us to the Super Bowl? - There are 22 NFL QB's who are being paid an average of $17M or more per season under their current contracts. - There are 15 NFL QB's who are guaranteed $65M or more under their current contracts. - The Franchise Tag for QB's in 2017 will be $24M. That's the baseline for Kirk Cousins, one year at $24M fully guaranteed. As of today, there are 19 NFL QB's who are each contractually guaranteed more than $24M. In the NFL, you need a good QB to win. We have a good QB. Good QB's are hard to find and they are paid extremely well, as shown above; therefore, in order to win we must pay our good QB extremely well. It's so simple that some of us think there must be more to it than that. There isn't. The alternative? Hope for a lightning strike on FedEx Field with a good and cheap QB emerging from the smoking turf.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
No one in this thread can provide an alternative to Cousins.
Not one that can take us to the playoffs.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Did the Cowboys have a valid alternative to Tony Romo this year that could lead them to the playoffs? And somehow they're 13-3. There are always going to be more qbs that come along. We got Cousins in the 4th round. Everyone acts like Cousins is the last good qb that will ever be found in nfl history and we have to keep him forever no matter the cost or how bad he has continuously choked in big games to this point.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Yea, he has good stats, but what exactly have we waited 20 years for, a qb that can get us to 8-7-1? I know there are other factors to that record like our sieve defense, but it's not exactly like he is dominating the nfl. I just don't think he's worth more than 20 million a year and it sounds like he's gonna want a lot more than that. No thanks. That's just my opinion though. I know people will disagree and there are a lot of good points to be made from your side. If he gets 25 million a year and takes the next leap, I'll gladly eat crow at that time.
