Re: The coordinators
Raiders had maybe the best overall offense when you count every position and they let him walk for a reason.. I'll pass

Re: The coordinators
Again I hope Sean stays but it doesn't look like he may. Goff is intriguing, I think with the right coach he can be a good QB.

Re: The coordinators
I can't believe we are talking about a 30 yr old head coach. That's crazy

I think the Rams may be willing to take the risk in order to develop Goff. Players have always had nothing but good things to say about McVay and his knowledge and teaching ability. Plus he's mature beyond his years and has been around the game a long time. |

Re: The coordinators
Yeah I just turned 30.. Tell me about it lol. I can see why though, look what he's done in DC. We went from a laughing stock offense to one of the best and probably the best in franchise history if u really want to talk about passing. Pretty impressive

Re: The coordinators
Wouldn't mind Jay calling the plays while working in tandem with someone else. Would Callahan be given the O-Cor position if Sean leaves?
I like McVay, but their is no denying the red zone issue he had last year were a major problem. And you really couldn't blame lack of talent considering it was basically better than the previous year....

Re: The coordinators
USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports Redskins OC Sean McVay has had a second interview for the Rams' head-coaching vacancy.
Per Pelissero, "things are heating up" regarding McVay and the Rams. The 30-year-old is the only candidate known to already have two interviews with Los Angeles. And according to Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson, ESPN analyst Jon Gruden talked with the Rams in an advisory role. That's notable because Gruden's younger brother, Jay, is the coach in Washington. So it's possible Jon put in a good word for McVay. He would be a refreshing hire and completely different from Jeff Fisher. He's probably done.

Re: The coordinators
Can't believe that McVay, at 30 years old, might get the Rams job. Frankly that shocks me.
He's going to have to go with Goff. He showed nothing as a rookie. The game was too fast for him. I wonder if he takes Colt with him... |

Re: The coordinators
I hate to see McVay go, but for some reason, it doesn't bother me as much as maybe it should. I think McVay has done a fantastic job, despite the red zone issues this year. And I think Gruden will miss him and have a hard time filling that void if McVay does go to the Rams. Having said that, I think Gruden can survive if he decides to take on the responsibility of calling plays. He could still hire another OC but still call plays himself. Does anybody know how much of the playcalling Gruden was a part of?

Re: The coordinators
One thing I do like about McVay getting that job as opposed to others is there won't be a push to bring Cousins along with him. Its another reason why I like Kyle getting the Denver job, they just moved up to draft a 1st round qb last year, which would make me think they wouldn't offer Cousins some dumb contract or have the picks to attempt a trade with us to acquire him.
I get McVay getting the opportunity I guess, but at the same time a little more seasoning may make me more comfortable. But the difference between OC and HC is pretty large. So hiring a guy on the basis of getting more out of the QB is tough to put on a HC. Look at the way this deal went the first year. Jay thought he could handle being the QB coach OC and HC. HE couldn't so he brought in a QB coach and gave McVay play calling duties. The idea that McVay could develop Goff from the HC title may be wishful thinking.

Re: The coordinators
If McVay goes to the Rams he's wedded to Jared Goff. Is that really what he wants?
If I were 30 and highly likely to end up with a head coaching gig at some point in the next 10 years I'd probably try to pick my spot a little better. You rarely get a new coaching job with a good QB situation, but you'd like to be able to pick or sign a guy soon after your arrival, for whom you can have a say in choosing. In LA it's either Goff or nobody. I guess he's got Gurley. He'll have fun with that little toy once he gets the blocking schemes in better shape.
