Not too old. No injury history right? If our offense can be as productive as last year than this guy is a huge piece between winning and losing close games. It is real nice to add a key piece before the draft. We need a couple more immediate impact players on D in the draft imo to get to the next level.

I think the Steelers have done pretty good & I'm not convinced they use BPA at all.

For example, they picked Le'veon Bell as the 48th pick in the 2nd round.

Mayock & CBS (and several others) had him rated toward the bottom of the top 100.

Need should definitely enter into the equation somewhere. It's only common sense.

I still am definitely in favor of BPA, with common sense injected. For example if you're set a a position, like I'd say we are at offensive tackle, then you rule that position out. Probably put TE in that bucket too.

But other than that I'm taking BPA. There's no other spot on the field where we couldn't use a good player.

Possible online depth move

Per @AaronWilson: Washington working out former Chicago Bears offensive tackle John Kling, according to a source

The eternal optimist in me wants to put wr in the bucket. Crowder Jdoc Reed Davis Pryor Grant "should be" good enough.

So they are set at TE ? not really, Reed is injury prone, Davis is old, and Paul will probably be cut. Carrier meh.... I would take one in the 4th or 5th round

I could get on board with that. I am generally speaking a BPA guy, with strong preference that my first rounder be someone who could get on the field a lot during his first season. So no TE in the first round for me.

By the time we get to rounds four and five, I'd look at every single position, even OT. Nsekhe won't be with us in 2018 when he becomes FA, he will probably get a starting gig.

Agree. Quick has some upside too. But the only reason I'd put WR in there is it's quite possible Pryor gets huge offers next year and we lose him.

Like, if John Ross somehow fell to us in Round 2, don't ask questions just grab him. Stupid hypothetical that will never happen, I know, but just to illustrate the importance of grabbing good talent whenever you can.

I just want good players, Gruden and the staff can sort it out from there.

Go D first three rounds unless a bpa that grades out really high falls to us. Than in the 4th you can go bpa and take less stock in need. RB, TE, O-line, WR. We gotta knock this draft outta the park is all I know. It might be 20 years before we have another capable qb.

Yeah I couldn't remember his name. Im starting to get excited for this draft. We lost our GM, but for some odd reason I think this draft goes down as one of our better ones. HTTR!

I would take OJ Howard in the first round. And Evan Engram in the second - Ingram could be considered a big WR or a small TE. A Great athlete.

They may both be great players but if we don't address the defense until the third round nothing will change as far as winning and losing.

It is unlikely a great defensive player will be available at #17. I would trade down and get an extra 2nd or 3rd. Then BPA in the late first.....RB/DL/ ILB/CB

2nd DL or S Jones NC State
3rd DL
3rd G
4th CB
4th ILB
5th RB
6th TE
6th C
7th S

I don't think TE in the first round makes any sense.

Last year, we were already loaded at WR, but two were in the final years of their contract, so it was easy to see how Doctson would get the opportunity to start for the majority of his rookie contract.

But we have Reed under contract for four more seasons, and Davis was just signed for three. So if you pick a stud TE in round one, he either sits in 3rd string for the majority of his rookie deal, or it puts big money on our bench. Just doesn't make any sense.

They won't pick a TE in round one, I'll guarantee you that.

We don't need "great" though that would be nice. We need "solid". Our D was atrocious. May not find a hof'er at 17, but certainly a starter. I like your idea and your position picks though. Pretty much covers all our needs. Except I think Brown and Foster could be a great tandem at ILB. Depth never hurts though.
