At 17 if we will take bpa on defense. Nobody that good on offense is falling to 17 without a reason, and we cannot afford gambles. Time to pay the piper and draft D in round 1.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

Dalvin Cook is the pick if he is there at 17, but I just don't see Cook getting by Philly.

Right Now at 17 who I want and could qualify as BPA:

Ruben Foster or Dalvin Cook.

Im seeing Leonard Fornette falls in a lot of mock drafts too.

Malik McDowell. Where's the beef?
Our most gaping hole is right up the damn middle. Has been for three years. This guy is a run stuffer that can also play the pass. He is my choice. He will be the perfect marriage of need plus bpa at 17.

Dalvin Cook is off my imaginary draft board.

McDowell has all the measurable things you want - in a 3-4 DE, not a nose. Also, he's been known to take off plays. I don't like that. Even so, I think the Skins would probably consider him at #17 as a DE..

McDowell had 34 tackles including 1.5 sacks in 2016. Almost 1/3 of his tackles were against Northwestern.

He looks like tarzan and plays like jane. The Redskins can do much better @ #17.

This is so far off base. He missed 3 or 4 games first of all. Second of all he went up against a number of very good tackles throughout the year in the big ten. You cannot base his performance on tackles. He played all over the line (super versatile) and was a disruptive force against the run and the pass.

so he is going to play against weaker competition in the NFL than the B1G ?

And a 6'6" "disruptive force " should have a least 1 PD, or 1 FF, or 1 Fumble recovered. Stats do not lie.

Huh? No. But if you are looking at his college career than you take stock in his competition. He went up against a lot of the better tackles in the country.
He suffered an ankle injury midway through the season, but I get it you think he is Jane. Lol.

He has. However he also had the ankle injury midway thru - couple that with the fear of ruining your future and a shit season for MSU and it is easy to see why. It is certainly not a plus, but maybe he is a totally different pro?

Do you guys think Fournette, Cook and Mccaffrey will all be gone in the first round?

All will be first round picks. But not all will be gone by the time it gets to us.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

Fournette is the only one I would take at 17.
Otherwise I would go defense.
There are a lot of BPA style guys that can be defensive stars.

If it weren't for Cooks bullshit off the field I would say the same thing about him. Except I want them to go defense regardless. I just think Cook is going to be a stud. Unless he can't get his head on straight.
