D Young was a damn fine FB but he was dumped. Just go back and look at his beastly run blocking and compare it to the few times Gruden uses Niles Paul in that role. There is a huge difference.
BTW, why are three of our TE's exactly the same type of player, none of whom can block for shit? Do you mean to tell me that a coach who really wants to run the ball can't get his FO to go out and find him a blocking TE? I mean a beast! If Gruden really wanted to run the ball, he would find that beast now and trade for him. You know, a ROLE PLAYER. Who gives a damn if he can catch the ball or not? Not me.
Gruden also put our most productive RB in the dog house and then cut him over fumbling issues. Neither Fat Rob nor Perrine hit the hole for shit. They slow down at the LOS and dance. At least Brown hits it hard and he's the most likely RB to break off a long run. He should get some chances.
I'm convinced that the root cause of our problems running the ball is the lack of commitment on the part of our HC to make it happen - whatever it takes. Talk is cheap and I'm no longer listening to Gruden's empty words about getting the running game going.

The idea of having the Skins become a running team just isn't relevant in the modern NFL. Its not that running is unimportant but its passing that's most important now and the top salaries reflect that. However the Skins move the chains doesn't matter but they have to get better at making that happen.
