Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
It was a surprise,” he said. “I was working out here in Minneapolis at my hotel and finished my workout, went over to my phone, had a lot of text messages and saw the news. Certainly hadn’t heard anything. But in this league and my story, I’ve learned that curveballs come all the time.
“I expect to be a free agent come March 14. We’ll see if that plays out, and if it does, it’s a unique opportunity I look forward to. Haven’t had a chance to pick where I’m going to play since 2007 when I chose to go to Michigan State. Looking forward to that opportunity.” I've never heard someone cry so much about being mistreated yet getting 45M over the last 2 years lol I wish someone treated me like that. The bottom quote says it all, he wants to pick his place to play and we all knew it wasn't the redskins. I like kirk but glad he's gone

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I have no further interest in KC's past or future in the NFL. It's not a negative thing. It's just that he's no longer part of my favorite team and I'm a straight homer. Wherever he goes, I won't be following his career because he'll be part of another NFL team, none of which I care much about. So, Best Wishes Kirk!
BTW, I'm also done with this thread. See the above for my reason.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I don't read KC's quotes as whining or complaining -- it seems pretty matter-of-fact to me. And let's be honest, it's pretty shitty that he (and Fuller) found out about all of this not from the team, but through social media.
I wish we had a classier and better managed organization than one which would do that sort of thing. But we don't. KC has done nothing but work hard and do what is asked of him -- it's pretty shabby treatment to not even give him the courtesy of a "hey, fella, we've decided we're going in a different direction" call. Even if KC said he was not going to sign anything until FA began, so what? Bruce Allen -- is your ego so fragile that you can't take it? (I am speaking rhetorically here.) Seriously, this seems like the kind of crap that makes players have second thoughts about whether this is a team that they'd want to be on.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I don't begrudge anybody for going for what they want. He wanted to play for an organization with a more winning pedigree. Fine.
That said, he really shouldn't be surprised the Redskins made a move. I mean they made several overtures and he said he wanted to go to free agency. You can't blame them. The last thing they could afford to do is go into free agency, try to bid for Kirk, and ultimately have him decide to go somewhere else. By then they would have missed out on Alex Smith and who knows how many other options. You didn't want to be a Redskin. That's OK, it's your right. But as soon as the team realized you weren't interested, it's their responsibility to figure out another plan. Smith is a good option. I'll always have a soft spot for Kirk but yeah, you can't help but feel spurned by the obvious desire to leave juxtaposed against all the sweet talking he did about Washington. Just stop, and move on with your career.

Honestly don’t see anything wrong with what he said or how he’s crying about anything. He’s handled himself with nothing but class in his time here. |

That said, it was painfully obvious he wanted to leave, and so all the sweet talking he does about wanting to still be a Redskin is pretty disingenuous. But I guess he had to say all the right things in case we ended up being the place he ultimately chose to come back to. Can't be mad at him. Also, can't blame Bruce Allen for making an aggressive move. You can blame him for not signing Cousins in 2015, but you can't blame him for trading for Smith now. Time for everybody to pull up their big boy pants and tie their big boy shoes and move on with life. Let's sign some mother f'n free agents! I'm ready for the next episode.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I think this the players finding out on Twitter shit is way overblown.
Someone leaked this story earlier than planned and it happened in KC. It's a non story. It's impossible for teams to control this kind of thing with the speed of information these days. These guys all know they are in a field where they can be traded, released, etc. It's not like one of us being traded or fired and hearing about it 2nd hand. Also, you don't usually tell the guy you're trading or replacing until a deal is done. So don't tell me a good organization would give them a heads up. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
Kirk taking the high road but He NEVER EVER wanted to be here..The Skins paid him a ton of money the last two years and what did that get this team? missed playoffs !!! is it all on him no but when you want to be paid like the man..BE THE MAN! My guess is his next 3 years in league will be average and whatever team will do okay ..just like with Smith we should be average 8-8 9-7 type team . I don't see that we lost the Superstar elite QB ..its close to being even trade except for Fuller ( that hurts!)
