But it's done now, so we have to move on. We have Alex Smith, who clearly wants to be here.
G1, I meant that for all the PC talk Kirk did (I'm leaving it to my agent, I don't want to talk contracts right now, etc.) he never came out and said "I want to be here long-term." Even Chris Thompson was talking about how he never got that feeling from him.
I think the timeline was something along the lines of: Kirk finally clicks as a starter, we cheap on the initial offer, Kirk feels slighted, probably doesn't feel wanted by the FO esp. after McC leaves, decides to only play for us if we keep tagging him which we do until it becomes untenable. Now he will walk in FA and if the lack of suitors is to be believed, probably goes to Denver on something like AAV of 27ish mil a year, which will lead to fans talking about how he didn't get 30 (which seems outlandish given I haven't seen any credible projections saying he could get 30 a year). I think worst case scenario, he takes 25ish a year to go to Denver. Best case scenario who the hell knows. Median prob 27 a year. I'm just saying even after the huge Jimmy G. deal this year I don't see Kirk blowing that out the water.

With over 1000 posts in this topic I think all the points on all the sides have been overly expanded on, so if I simplify at this point, c'est la vie. The FO isn't blameless but KC isn't either.
