Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status 2018
Picks should take up approximately $3 - $4M. Other than the first rounder they don't make much, and certainly not much more than the 51st guy they're replacing.
I'd say the Skins will spend another $15M in cap space in free agency. We'll see if they buy somebody significant for the DL, or if they just bargain hunt the rest of the way.

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status 2018
Yeah that could be done if the team so chose. Norman, Trent, Kerrigan and Reed would be the targets if that were to be done. But the team really hasn't gone the restructure route since the days of Vinny.

Does this O/S and Free agency have any impact on BS contract situation? He is a top 10 Guard and will command a big pay day.

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status 2018
Could you please rephrase your question? I don't know if it's all the acronyms or the vague descriptions but I'm not entirely clear what you're asking.

Basically I'm asking if this could have any impact on the rest of our spending in 2018?

2018 is the last year of Scherff's deal, but we can and probably will exercise his option for 2019. That means we'll need to get him under long term contract by 2020. The team has roughly $100M in cap space in 2020, so we can certainly afford it. So all that said, no I do not think the Redskins will put the brakes on their free agent spending over the course of the next 3 weeks because they need to be sure they have room to pay Scherff. It's clear the team is in bargain hunting mode now, after having signed Richardson. So any player they get from between now and the draft is not likely to be a high dollar signing - I think they'll get maybe one or two mid tier guys and then a few bargain basement signings. Nothing that would restrict them from locking up Scherff.
