It's funny people say, "play your damn contract" or "just shut up and play, you are getting paid." But no one complaints when NFL teams cut players and don't honor their contracts; specially when teams cut players after the free agency period (see Dez Bryant).
And none of this is going to happen until the NFLPA does something about it. They are so hung up on non-issues like player discipline, in the next CBA they should find a way to do something about it.

He signed a contract and will be paid in full. And you're right, the NFLPA needs to work on the guaranteed money in next CBA. But you're never going to get a contract that says if you play well prior to the last year of the contract the team has to offer you another huge contract before the season starts. Under the current rules that their union agreed to, Seattle has done nothing wrong. And acting like a whiny bitch isn't going to help your cause (most times).
