Re: Dallas postgame
Highlights from Colt's presser:
- Colt sounds shell shocked. I feel bad for him. I think the next 5 weeks will gauge whether he retires after this year. If this is the theme for the rest of the year I don't see him coming back next year. Which I'm pretty indifferent on, Smith will be back but I would hope he takes a pay cut and we bring in a rookie and let them duke it out. |

Re: Dallas postgame
A. Because he's gonna be 35 and coming off a major injury that could possibly limit his effectiveness.
B. Because we draft a replacement knowing that he is not a long term option anymore. C. Because he's a nice guy who will do whatever it takes to help the team, including taking a pay cut (let me rephrase, a pay maneuver that would allow the team to have some short-term cap relief used to improve the team elsewhere). D. Because the aforementioned point is a common move in the NFL for teams that need short term cap relief. E. Because he's a nice guy, the kind of guy who will go out of his way to help his replacement even though he knows it means the end is near (ex. 2017 with a certain Patrick Mahomes). F. Because he might know even if he does make it back, the odds of him having a long term future here as a successful qb after a devastating injury are slim. |
