Re: The 50/50 Post Game Thread
Not ready to crown anybody. But. It's a W. HTTR.
And I don't care about draft stock, it's a crap shoot anyway so losing a few spots doesn't outweigh building up confidence. Which is what this team needs. This defense just needs to play with some juice to produce at the level they should. And this offense has some young up and coming players (Haskins, McLaurin, Harmon, Sims, Guice) who I'd like to feel good about themselves and themselves as Redskins players going into next season !

Do you think the team built confidence after they beat Miami? I think they got worse. I think they got so bad the wheels came off and they crashed and burned and ended up playing maybe the worse game they played this year just last week against the Jets. This game today was against a team whose defense is just as bad if not worse than Miami’s. With Stafford out their offense is worse too. I think they are going to get beat like a drum for the next five weeks. So forgive me if I am not buying into this being some sort of renaissance. I hope Miami beats Cincy in a few weeks, and I hope Cincy drafts Burrows number one leaving us the chance to draft Chase Young. A generational talent. As for Haskins who knows, it is too early to tell. But today he trended down imo. |

I just don't think we're building anything good for the future if all our players feel like shit about themselves and this team. We have a young QB who could develop into a nice one, who's already showing signs of progress, we have 3 young promising WR, a potential young stud at RB, and a core of young defensive talent... Plus the "win" against Miami really should have been a loss, and Haskins wasn't playing, it wasn't building anything.

The core offense for the next 4 years is in it's embryonic stages, and with Callahan running it, it's very much in a run sheltered cocoon. But the whole point is to guide this young qb into a long term franchise qb. Not to have a miracle showing 3 games into his starting career. |

Can we stop acting like Haskins is a converted wide receiver learning a new position? The guy was 13 for 29 with an int against the worst pass d in football. Last week he attempted 35 throws so no he wasn’t given more or taking more. He wasn’t controlling the game either c red. Maybe one day he will be but not today. Not even close. Dont kelly ann conway me about what I saw today. Please. I can say he trended down because he did. He played better against the Jets than he did today. Quarterback play was absolutely atrocious this week, and last week it was bad. Just bad. That is called trending down. You can spin it and sugar coat it anyway you would like. |

SF i hope he absolutely kills it next week, and as far as Im concerned we can wait all of next year while someone, not sure who because as of right now he doesn’t even exist, builds a team around him. We can wait the year after that too, while Mr Someone continues to add pieces around him to help him, not just players but coaches, because we actually need all of that. I 100 percent mean that. Shit Ive waited over twenty years. Im numb to this shit. I sincerely mean it when i say give Haskins two more full years before we actually know what we have. Although since it is the Redskins we need a GM and coaching staff too so.... But all that aside, lets play devils advocate and say we get a GM, and HC , OC in place to maximize this team and Haskins - I will sit and wait two more or three more years for the rebuild. Guice. Lets do this. McLaurin and Harmon come on boys. Payne, Allen, Dunbar, lets go. Today though? Haskins was straight trash against the worst pass D in the game. |

Why do we “have to wait and see” at all? What’s wrong with expressing an option every week based on what we’ve seen throughout the season up until that week? Haskins has not been good at all - so far. Maybe he will get better or maybe he won’t, but his accuracy has been absolutely terrible. He’s missed wide open guys on easy throws so many times. There have been reports about his work ethic all season, but that has supposedly improved some. And then the selfie thing. For every positive thing we see with Haskins, there are atleast 3 negatives. So far, he appears to be exactly what experts thought he’d be coming into the draft - a long term project. We probably should not expect anything worthwhile from him for a couple years. Whether the team can endure starting him for multiple years as he develops remains to be seen. Is his potential worth tanking for 1-2 more years after this? Hopefully the next head coach makes the right call (not sure what that is yet) on whether to keep going with Haskins or move in another direction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Said it several times already, Haskins is a rarity. There are very few quarterbacks that have so much success in college with so few starts. So yes he is on a learning curve. Couple that with the fact that our o line is terrible in pass pro. Brandon Sherrf where are you? I want Chase Young to be a Redskin so bad, but I honestly wouldn’t mind if they spent every freaking pick on o line, and plucked a couple out of free agency. Haskins development is an issue along with the line, but the biggest problem is BA and DS running the show. We will never ever build a team around Haskins (if he even pans out) with them at the helm. |
