I seriously doubt the Redskins will use a high draft pick for QB. They may go for a project QB.

Haskins was a DS pick, it helps our situation if he makes himself attractive to coaches because it reduces a major source of conflict with our dysfunctional owner. At this point it seems clear BA will not be outright fired so we need as much positive as possible to get a decent coaching staff in place.

Dan Snyder was part of the Haskins draft pick, but at the time this was well received by the media, with some sports articles listing the Redskins as having an “A” draft grade for the 2018 draft.

Look at who is playing in this team NOW, from that draft class and UDFA - Haskins, Sweat,MCLAURIN, HARMON, Martin, HOLCOMB, Steve Smith. THIS HAS BEEN AN OUTSTANDING ROOKIE CLASS!

The key person, in my eyes, is KYLE SMITH, the Scouting Manager. The team has had excellent pickups in the last 2 seasons under his direction. I’m for making him the GM. I still believe Bruce Allen will be fired and his place taken over formally or informally by Alex Smith. We shall see!

too early imo.

3 years form now, Terry may be the only guy on the team or Haskins/Sweat are both busts playing back up roles (2 1st R and 2nd R = not contributing)

Really? McLaurin may hit 1000 yds in his first season. Usually it takes WR a season or two or three to get in stride. Some never get it - like Doctson. If he had a better QB situation he would have been in the Rookie-of-the-Year territory. McLaurin will be our #1 WR for a decade.

Holcomb - he could be elite DB. Already, he’s very good, even with a very poor DC.

Steve Sims and Harmon -still too soon for a long-term prediction. But they’re decent WR rookies now. Sims is already a good KR special teams guy.

Haskins /Sweat - decent rookie seasons. Haskins has a 121 QB rating in his sixth game. That’s encouraging. Sweat has been slightly discouraging but the whole defense is handicapped by poor coaching.

Martin - OL, he had a decent first game. We’ll have to see how he does after the next 2 games.

This is a very good rookie class. This is encouraging because the Redskins have not had a good drafting ability in a long time. We’ve had two good drafting seasons in a row. This is because of Kyle Smith - I hope he is promoted to GM.

The guy has played just in 6 games and you're ready to give up on him? He has a 121 QB rating in his sixth game and you think he's terrible? It is very RARE for a top QB to have a good or even a very good rookie season. Look at HOF QB like Peyton Manning - 26 INT his rookie year. Steve Young had 3 TD and 8 INT his first season. It goes on and on.

You've got to give a high draft pick players 2-3 years to see if they can become a franchise player. NOT like Doctson, who the Redskins kept around for over 4 seasons - he was just a poor WR. Only an awful GM like BA would keep a loser like Doctson around while letting 1000 yd WR like Garcon, Jackson and Crowder walk out the door.

I don't know if Haskins is the one. Time will tell, but the team needs to provide him with play time, reps, an improved OL, good coaching, far better play-calling, and a decent TE. Only AFTER the team helps him out with the improvements listed above and he's had 20-30 games, can the coaches make an evaluation of whther he is the future QB for this team. It's too soon now, even with his current faults.

No you don't.

The best team in the league cuts and trades their drafted players all the time and they start UDFA all the time. Even there, there are politics involved, see the Jimmy G trade, but it's the closest thing there is in the league to a pure meritocracy, at least from the outside looking in.

What if the "high draft pick" should have been a "low draft pick"? Still 2-3 years?

Jay, KOC, Cavanaugh, all worked with Kirk, Alex, Colt, Case, and now Dwyane. You don't think there is a good feel for his ceiling outside DS and BA's office?
