Would we rather have more regular season games or more playoff games? The answer is pretty easy for me.

It means the first weekend you could have 4ea 8win 9loss teams(or worse) playing. 2 seed vs 7th (7th seed likely is no better than 8 and 9) And 4th seed(worst division winner potential 8 and 9 record or worse 7 and 10) vs the best wild card team, likely an 11 or 12 win team. Maybe they can change the seeding to minimize it but with the 17game season there will be lots of mediocre football during wildcard weekend.
