I honestly don't think the lack of preseason games will matter much. Some teams in recent years didn't play their starters at all, or very very little. But I'm sure it will be a front and center story line early on. Any sign of rust will have announcers pointing out the lack of preseason games.

I think it will affect rookies and younger guys that don't have much experience. There might be a big drop off in play from starters to young bottom-of-the-roster talent. And I think the injury risk will be greater because it's hard to go from practicing to regular-season full speed.

The bad things is, for us, most teams aren't dealing with one of the youngest rosters in the league with a lot of player turnover and an entire new offense and defensive scheme to install.

I think it mainly represents many lost opportunities for bubble guys trying to make the 53. But I'm not sure it'll have a big impact on on field performances.
