Typical Dan move…to act like the fine to team was a personal vindication. In-fucking-credible

This whole investigation really made Goodell look bad…again. But I think we can put to bed the league is out to get us every time their is a flag thrown our way.

Those are two separate issues.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to think the NFL wanted this to go away quickly and relatively quietly before people began to look at other teams and owners. As for the officiating, I watch a TON of football and have never seen the amount of blown calls and outright bias against a team that I see agains us. Yeah I’m a fan but even people I know who hate the team agree.

Idk. All you have to do is go to a sports bar on any given Sunday and you will hear every jersey curse every flag on their team as a bad call. Lol.
But lets say the league has an agenda against us, ie bad calls, losses, etc. What is the end game? Because if there is one it would appear to me they had an opportunity to get there faster with this investigation. Also Goodell could have really stuck it to Snyder and come away smelling like a pretty good guy, makin it go away just looks bad.

Haha, that's funny. I get why the league might have it out for NE, Pgh, Balt, GB or the other winning teams but WFT has been a loser team for close to 30 years. Most of the games WFT plays are meaningless in the playoff picture. Nobody outside the WFT fan base cares about WFT because WFT hasn't given anyone much to get excited about for 30 years.

Yeah nobody is out to get this team, this franchise hasn't been able to get out of it's own way since Snyder bought it so they haven't needed any outside influence. The league would love for a team in a major market like DC to be successful.

Every fan base likes to think the league stacks the deck against them somehow. It's just silly paranoid fan conspiracy BS.

You are 100% correct about the NFL wanting a major market team like WFT to be successful.

I disagree. The league is out to get us - they just left us with Snyder with 100% ownership. That IS sticking it to us.

The research on negativity bias in social emotional actions is pretty validated. It is one of the reasons one bad experience at a restaurant is enough for people to quit going to their favorite restaurant. Fans of a sports team are probably the worst at it.

Anyways here is a recent theses paper that looks at individual referee bias and also team penalties. It is pretty easy language. The shocker? Washington is right in the middle when it comes to penalty rates. The biggest factors that influenced penalty rates? Unfamiliarity by a team to rule changes and organizational culture. https://ir.uiowa.edu/cgi/viewcontent...=honors_theses

If we truly want to tip scales in our favor here is an article putting in laymen's terms showing a sideline bias. Basically if we run plays toward Washington sidelines calls are more likely to go in our favor. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...freakin-works/
