Hawgs is too close to Hawks, and also just dumb. Hogs would be the one out of those two.

Hogs. Hawgs is like adding a "z" instead of an "s" to be down with the kids, or KIDZ.

A buddy who is a fan and graphic artist did a logo using Hawgs and it looked cool .. I know it’s a slang but still was cool ..

Kevin Sheehan says "from a very good source" the new name is not gonna be "Washington centric" (WFT, WFC, DCFC etc...) but a "real name" (Washington *Something*).
He's not very fond of this name game, so may not be the most reliable on this specific matter, but it's in line with what simple logic tells us.

Hogs was a great nickname for the OL but as the name for the entire franchise? Hard pass. Sounds too minor league baseball to me.
