I like how Cooley blew off the event.

More of that needs to happen.

Art Monk was probably my favorite all-time player, and it bothers me to see him, and really all the alumni, participating in these events after what has transpired over the last couple decades. I think I saw a short clip with Art Monk, Gary Sanders, and Ricky Sanders, and Gary and Ricky basically said they were there because Art told them to come. Now, I know most people took that in jest, thinking they were just having fun, but I wonder how many of these former players actually do participate because they are just falling in line with other former greats.

The greats should just give DS the big F.U. like Cooley did - and stop coming. Period. Frankly I don't understand why they are willing to associate themselves with this franchise at this point. They have been mostly disrespected despite their contributions...

I would guess the alumni come back to see each other more than anything. Can't blame them if that's their motivation.

Personally I'm not blaming them even if it's for other, more ego related, reasons. They put their body and health on the line for this business, they're allowed to appreciate being honored in someway or another, even by/for this shitty owner that they didn't chose more than we did.

But it sure would be a huge communication swift if all our former stars said they didn't want anything to do with this organisation and this man ever again...

Yeah, I'm not really "blaming" them. I respect their decision, for whatever their reasons are. I just wonder, if there were more former greats who decided to take a stand like Cooley did, if it wouldn't get this ball rolling a little faster...because the ball does actually seem to be rolling doesn't it. I mean I don't want to get my hopes up, but I can't help but think that his days are numbered - whatever that number may be...

Oh for sure ! In today's communication driven world, it would be a MASSIVE switch !

I was out of Town and didn't see any of it. The Alumni deserve their day and it should always be celebrated regardless of whatever turmoil is going on , they earned it!

Yeah, that is probably very true. I wasn't really thinking about that angle really. Well, maybe they can have their annual get-together somewhere else, on the same weekend.

I hear you, and agree...but I think they're coming back and doing things out of respect for the fans and what the organization used to be and was when they were there.
