Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
The #Commanders will interview #Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy tomorrow for their still-vacant OC job, source said. He's a top candidate. They spoke with Greg Roman yesterday, which went well, and have no other interviews scheduled.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Sounds like it's EB as the first choice, Roman 2nd, and Shurmur is the fallback option.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
if you won two SB in the past 4 years with the most dynamic offense around and the only gig you can find is WSH that is a red flag

Maybe he's looking at RR as a lame duck and if he does a great job he could be in line for the next HC opening here. Who knows. There's also a lot to like about the offensive talent here. |

Look how fast the PHL coordinators were snatched up. But lets be honest EB and Greg R are probably about the best we are going to do

I'd definitely take either one over Scott Turner. Either way it's not going to matter much until the QB issue is solved. |

Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

He won them with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahommes. The best offensive coach and quarterback in the game. There is definitely a thought of how much does EB have to do with this? It is a reasonable question. EB needs to prove that he can run a strong offense without Reid and Mahommes. No better place than here to prove you can turn an offense around. Reid said himself the guy needs to go run his own show. |

Again, I keep bringing up McDaniels as an example of a HC who worked under a great coach/QB option who got many time overs opportunities to become a HC (and he's already failed at it once). Also, there is an entire history of Belichick tree coaches who have failed as HCs.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I probably didn't phrase that well. I feel like there are questions about EB that are not being asked when other coordinators/assistants that have been hired as head coaches.
And I feel like he has been involved in a successful organization for far too long for people to still have questions. Look at every coach in the Belichick tree that has been hired solely for the reputation of being involved in a successful franchise. Yes, a lot of them have failed, but I feel like no one ever said "well he was successful because he worked under a great coach with a great QB." And this includes his DCs, given that BB is seen as a defensive-minded HC. Unless EB goes and punches everyone in the face, and pisses and sh*ts himself during interviews, I don't get how he cannot get a job with the success he's had as an OC. And why there are a million questions/excuses as to why he's not a HC.

Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

McDaniels is a perfect example of what im saying. Lol. Clearly the Pats success had nothing to do with him. Is it fair to EB that he didn’t get a shot and McDaniels did? Nope. But it is reasonable to ask how much success is attributed to EB when it comes to the Chiefs. Also Reid is an offensive guy. BB is defense. So with EB it is well he has a great quarterback and HC. With McDaniels it was just the quarterback. For the record i think EB deserves a shot. Im just throwing out reasons why teams may wonder and they might be thinking who couldn’t be a successful OC with Mahommes and Reid… |

I'll be happy with EB as our OC, other teams' losses can be our gain.

If he does offer EB the job that's a hell of a risky transfer for EB - he could be looking at being on the street in a year or less if Ron can't get us out of mediocrity.
