If you watch some old tapes of Ricky Sanders, they're alot alike. Ricky had amazing speed and some sick moves... but he was just never featured as a number 1 reciever and used to the extent that moss was, because IMHO we had a better corps of complimentary recievers. |

Do you remember what the details were on his contract? Hopefully he wont be asking for a new one anytime soon.

Re: coles v.s. cooley
Looking at the great Gibbs teams of the past, we always had a burner at WR in Gary Clark or Ricky Sanders and then we had a big target in Art Monk. Probably what we need is another big target. However, Cooley has probably served in that role this season. Moss makes people miss, while Cooley just runs over guys. Have you guys noticed like I have this year that the first guy that hits Cooley, almost never brings him down? It is always the second or third guy. Unlike many of you, I have not lost faith in Patten just yet. Right now we just aren't using anyone other than Moss and Cooley, but I think Patten can still be a big part of this team next year.

Re: coles v.s. cooley
im not saying that coles is as good or better than moss but too many people forgot so quickly that we are a much better team than we were last year and the jets are much worse, and not because of this trade. that in itself is going to make moss look better and coles look worse.

Re: coles v.s. cooley
Cooley stats even look pretty good against Randy Moss....889 and 6 tds for Moss and 766 adn 7 tdsfor the Coolanator. Heck he's right there with Heap, Gonzo and Crumpler in yards and has more tds then Crump and Gonzo. In his second YEAR! Go Cooley, Go Cooley.

Re: coles v.s. cooley
There is no doubting that Moss is a serious scare to our competition. They MUST double him or risk being "allaned". Having said that, we are extremely thin at the WR position...
1. Moss 2. Patten 3. Trash 4. Jacobs 5. Brown 6. Farris I will give Patten a pass this year, due to injury. But Trash, is getting old, Jacobs is a bust (how many years now?) ,Brown is not consistent, and Farris is just too much of an uknown. We need serious upgrading on WR 3-4, that will allow our current 3-4 to move to 5-6. I am just disgusted with Jacobs. I have read here before that Brunnel won't throw to him. Brunnel just doesn't trust him. (period) Jacobs has to earn that respect from Brunnel. We don't need a major overhaul here. We just need to improve our depth. If we cut Farris and Jacobs, that opens up 2 positions, maybe one for a draft choice, and one for a FA. my 2 cents.....

Sometimes I wonder if the toe surgery has some type of weird side effect, like losing your toe or if it isn't curable anyway. |
