Re: The annual NFL coaching carousel
Let's temper that enthusiasm just a little. We're in almost the same position as the Lions last year. Now 2 years in a row they 'should' have gone to the big one. Not saying they took us for granted, Campbell's not an idiot. But we don't want to get ahead of ourselves then find we're perennial bridesmaids. Let's see if AP can build sustained success then ride that train like the chiefs have been. Andy Reid's mentality always seems to be let's get there first, and he's not wrong.

I’d love to know whether Campbell told Johnson to run the damn ball. If he didn’t, I might have to disagree with the idiot comment. Such bad playcalling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: The annual NFL coaching carousel
Johnson strikes me as a guy who isn't taking orders at all. I imagine he he has full autonomy in playcalling thankfully after last night. He has been coveted for a head coach for multiple years and has resisted. He's either scared or complacent. He did himself no favors last night. He struck me as designing good plays but calling bad ones and too much trick bs.

Hard for me to see Johnson as a team leader while continuing to burnish his reputation as the Einstein of modern NFL offense. There’s a simple mindedness that coaches need as leaders (“let’s run through this brick wall together”) that I just don’t see in Johnson. He loves the cerebral complexity of it all too much.
