Why be surprised with Ortega escaping the first cut. He's caught the best passes in the preseason with the exception of Jimmy Farris. That 44 yd. reception from Jason Campbell in the first game is still the best offensive play. Ortega will probably make the practice squad if has a good game without mistakes against Baltimore.

i think he makes the 53 man team. if he doesn't then we only have 2 TE's on the roster. Would we do it?

I figured he'd get pratice-squaded and RJ would make the team. Then when RJ got hurt, as he always does, Ortega would be available to come up. This basically means Ortega is a lock for the roster now. This is good. I think Ortega has been a bright spot for us. Just surprised at how it went down.
