In '99, the emergence of Albert Connell gave us a powerful #1 and #2 where there wasn't before. My point is you never know what a player will bring in terms of chemistry and providing what could be the last essential piece of an offensive puzzle. |

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Look at that big word in your reply.... IF this kid is healthy. might have had 1 good yr ill give him that like i look for lloyd and RE to have a pretty good yr this yr. I know our db's can handle him.. no need to worry about this one.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
I've said this before and I'll say it again: Reggie Brown had two good games against us last year (171yrds and 3TDs total). While those aren't the biggest numbers, they were enough to make both games nail-biters. He's the only receiver on their team that concerns me at all. Now, Stallworth will help stretch the field. I'm hoping that Brown has a nice big sophomore slump that lasts a few seasons.
Damnit, I don't like the idea that philly's not a pushover.

They don't have Corey Simon anymore, so where the D may have dropped off is at DT.

When you add speed on the outside it forces you to respect the deep ball. I don't think the Eagles need Stallworth to light things up either, because Brian Westbrook is going to be the biggest beneficiary of his presence. The field just got more open for Westbrook, who didn't need a whole lot of extra space to begin with. My main point is I thought the Eagles were strong from the get-go. They're getting overlooked right now, which is exactly what was happening to the 'Skins last year. That puts a chip on your shoulder. Never count out a team with a QB as good as McNabb, tackles as good as Tra Thomas and John Runyan, and a back as elusive as Westbrook. I know Gibbs and company aren't overlooking these guys, because they are very dangerous now that they're all healthy.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Donte will need to develop some timing with McNabb early on, but it won't take him long. I just drafted him Sunday in my Fantasy football league thinking he would be a Saint. Now I am loving him being an Eagle, but absolutely HATING him because I am a Redskins fan. So what is the Depth Chart for WR now in Philly? Brown #1, Stallworth #2, or is Stallworth the #1, because of his experience?

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Not sure where all of this injury talk is coming from. Stallworth has missed one game in that past two seasons for injury. I'd like to think he's not that good of a receiver because now he's an Eagle, but if I'm being honest with myself this move is a great move for the Eagles. If Stallworth was a Skin, he'd be our second best WR. Sure, the Eagles still don't have a marque #1WR........but Brown, Stallworth, Baskett is a heck of a lot better than Brown, Baskett, and anyone else they have (Lewis/Gaffney/Bloom/Avant/Pinkston). They've addressed their biggest need with a great trade and gave up essentially nothing (Simoneau sucks and who cares about a 4th round pick).

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Bloom has been put on IR and Stinkston has requested a trade.
Stallworth is #1 and Reggie Brown #2, Greg Lewis likely #3 - I believe Jabar Gaffney is a bubble player not sure of his place on this years roster. |

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
its Stallworth, Brown, Baskett, and Lewis, with McCants, Gaffney, and Avant competing -- those are some superstars right there

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
I'm not worried... we carried TO the whole time he was in Philly, and TO is better than Stallworth. I usually have total faith in our corners, and furthermore, we have one of the league's best defense. My only concern is if the offense is gonna leave the defense hanging this year... again....

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
By the way, Donte Stallworth's first game as an Eagle:
6 receptions, 141 yards and a TD. Just sayin' ... |
