Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

[quote=ArtMonkDrillz;214493]Chicago didn't have all those false starts last year because Washington fans were sitting in their seats clapping like they were at a child's class play.

I was at that Chicago game last year and it was unbelievable how much the crowd was into the game and how loud FedEX was. I watched last night's game on tv, and it just did not seem loud enough at all. How was the stadium compared to last year's opener? Did tv just not do it justice, or was the place not rockin?

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

I didn't think it was all that loud compared to last year. I think the fact that it was a primetime game with more/longer commericals, it was harder to stay loud. I also dont think that the lackluster pre-season helped.
One think though, I was in the upper level last night but the lower level for the Chicago game, so maybe that's why last year seemed louder.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

Not only should people not be standing up at the games, if our fans get too loud I think that's bush league, and the referees should charge us a 15 yard penalty for delay of game (big ups to my man Norm Soloman).

Saracasm!

I just cant believe anyone who argues that people shouldnt stand up at a football game WHENEVER they want, while also claiming to be a fan of live football. That is one of the things that makes football so much better than any other sport, the noise, the enthusiasm, the shaking rattling grandstands. If the person behind you is in a wheelchair with a respirator sit down, but if its some whining corporate attourney from Alexandria I say tell him to piss off. Seriously, what do you think would happen in Philadelphia if you asked the guy in front of you to sit down? What would happen in Kansas City? In Lambeau? With fans as amazing as ours there is no reason we shouldnt have an environment as intimidating as the aforementioned. Instead what we have is a big loud Disneyland for wealthy lawyers and businessmen.

One last point and then I'll finally drop this (perhaps):

When RFK used to literally shake, was that from people stomping their feet while sitting or jumping up and down while up on their feet? I guess the whole "We Want Dallas" chant would have never happened if everyone was sitting.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

I was a few rows behind the Skins bench and I thought it was plenty loud on every Vikings' third down, and most 2nd and longs.

What makes it hard to keep up the noise is when the other team converts 50% of their 3rd and longs. One friggin sack or int or batted down ball would have stoked the crowd like crazy.

I've been in the nosebleeds, too, and you just don't feel the intensity of the lower deck. That's one of the many problems with FedX.

p.s. -- the people in front of me were standing much of the game.....snapping pictures of Tom Cruise.

You should have told security that he threatened you and then followed him out to the parking lot to kick the shit out of him.

If someone wants to see the game in a controlled environment they can sit at home.

When we score or when it's 3rd and 8 and they have the ball we'll stand up with you. Otherwise, keep your eyes on the field and ignore the beer vendor for a quarter. Plus you might want to learn the word to "Hail to the Redskins" espescially the middle verses.

I now have a good understanding of why season ticket holders sell their seats to opposing teams fans or anyone else that will buy them. Thanks to everyone for clearing that up for me.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

Stand up, be courteous, love your brother REDSKIN, but ofcourse #1 rule don't be a dipshit and don't start fights and don't get in others way. Otherwise I'm going str8 to the ushers/cops cause you don't deserve to be there. I worked long and hard to get and pay for my tickets. And I'm sure many people did. Don't ruin it for others. And by the way, there's a football game going on out there that we're supposed to be cheering for!!!

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

Standing up for the first play and getting threatened won't help me be courteous. I'm standing up for defense, go to the ushers all you want, because unless I'm being agressive, there's NOTHING they can do. There's no policy saying you can't stand up.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

I just think it's ridiculous to think that people want to go to a football game to SIT DOWN and watch the game, and even worse they expect everyone around them to do the same. What is this world coming to??

Seriously, just stay home.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?

And I always wondered why a 92,000 person stadium stayed so quiet for a majority of games.
