I'd agree with more seats if we could fill them, problem is, so many ticket holders give away most of their tickets when we struggle. With less seats, you get more diehards at the games, who won't give away tickets, plus a better atmosphere. The ginormous stadium has no positives.

Skins near sellout for alot of their games, I dont think filling up the stadium has ever been a problem in recent years.

A new stadium will only attract more people, so I see no negative.

I'm for a stadium in the district, but I don't see Snyder moving anytime soon. I know he's always looking to grow his revenues, so there's no way that any new stadium is a seat less than the 90,000 in Fedex. I also don't think Snyder would build it himself like JKC, and he'll get no money from the NFL because 1) its unnecessary since we're playing in a new stadium and 2) the owners don't really seem to care too much for Snyder.

last i heard, the only way it'd happen is by knocking rfk down and replacing it with a new stadium. i'm all for it as long as danny's footing the bill. otherwise F that.

The District has been licking it wounds since J.K. Cooke pulled out of town.

Why would Dan Snyder want to get in bed with the DC Government? They don't have any money.

It would be nice to have the team back in DC, I wouldn't have to deal with the traffic. However, stadium deals usually take a long time to consumate, and having just completed a new stadium deal for the Nats, good luck in dealing with DC. I remember Mr. Cooke"s struggles led to being in Landover now. I'm sure we'll be having many more discussions on this subject.

Why would Synder want to move back in the city near a Metro stop and lose all the parking revenue he is making a Fed Ex? Unless there is some way Synder can be promised money for the lost revenues from people taking the metro and not paying the $25+ parking fee, I don't see any owner wanting to move a stadium near a metro facility.

Just ask yourself - if you were the owner making a ton of cash off parking revenue because the stadium is not accessible by public transportation (talking about a rail not bus) would you want to move your team to a stadium where everyone can take the metro and not have to pay parking fees?

I love RFK - don't get me wrong, but football is a business and last I heard Metro never paid a dime to Jack Kent Cooke for all the revenue he missed out by playing at metro accessible RFK.

Good point, but I think having the SuperBowl in DC might make up for that.

This is going to happen eventually, it's just a matter of when. The land that Fed-Ex is built on is so valuable as developmental real estate that there are conceivably cost benefits to selling the land and moving back to DC. Moreover, the new stadium could be constructed over several years, allowing them to really get it right, unlike the hastily erected Fed Ex which I think we all agree is pretty much a disaster. Finally, you wouldnt have to worry about any opposition from anyone in DC. Snyder would fit the bill and the city would get to host a superbowl. Everyone wins. It might take 5 or more years for this to happen, but it will happen.

Dallas' stadium is a joke. Why would anyone duplicate it, especially for the Redskins?

I think manning woulda won a superbowl by now if they didnt play in a dome.
Why would playing on grass make a difference? The Colts are built for speed.

There is no way that a new stadium will be smaller.

No with less seats you get more well off people at the games. Going to games in this area is almost a status thing. Being diehard has nothing to do with it for most people.

WASHINGTON -- There's been some talk around town of a plan to bring the Redskins back to RFK Stadium.

Officials said the plans are not specific, but the vision is of a new stadium with a dome.

"People love the Redskins. I think people would love to have the Redskins back in the District. The accessibility of the RFK site versus FedEx Field is unquestioned," said D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans.

What do you guys think? IMO I think it would be great to have them back in DC where they belong. Not to mention the shitty commute/location and parking at FedEx. One thing we can't deny is that Snyder has the money to do it, and knowing him and his marketing ability, he would probably do this.........

Mods please move the article to the newswire.
Wow. I'd love to see that happen. There was nothing like RFK. I go to a few baseball games a year and I just can't get into it. Baseball in that stadium is just not right. But what would happen to Raljon? There has been so much money spent just to make improvements. I hope it happans but the chances are slim.

They can tear down 'The Jack' and build a mall. The time limit on a stadiums is about 15 years now. Remember the Kingdome?

It may come down to the size of Dan Snyder's ego. If he can get the Super Bowl to DC and bring the Skins home I would welcome it. Or, just bring the team back to DC.

He can build it his way and call it 'Fed Ex Field at Dan Snyder Stadium'.

There you go!

Fedex doesnt have sh*t on RFK. The skins havent been the same since they left the district. I am all for moving them back. I am starting to think fedex is cursed.
