As much as I hate the obnoxious prick Maas, he was bang on with some of those keys to cleaning up Washington. When they showed the graphic of all our big name coaches along with their fancy titles (associate head coach, assistant head coach, coordinator etc.) - that has really made the skins organization a laughing stock this year - we deserve it. Can't win by buying players, and as Danny has now learned, can't win by buying coaches either.

Of Gibbs, Saunders, Buges, and Breaux, we only need 1.
Of Williams, Blache, and Gray, we only need 1.

Meanwhile Mangini, Payton, and their no-name coaching staffs are getting the job done in NY and NO.

The whole Free Agency thing is way overblown. It's a media tool. They throw up the total contracts we gave out number, which sounds really high but is a fictitious amount we will never pay. Contracts are spread out to lessen the bonus cap hit per season. Also you can look at the teams that draft high in the draft and look at the money they dole out with mixed results.

Our Free Agents over the first two years were good, this year they haven't panned out yet, but evaluate these same players at the end of next season and see where they are.

The titles thing is moot. It doesn't matter. The QB changes thing is obvious and everyone wants that to be stable. Maas did nail the Tampa Running theme early in the game, but he is still the worst announcer I have ever heard.

To me, the "too many cooks in the kitchen" argument is getting a little old. During Gibbs 1.0, he still had Bugel coaching the line, Simmons coaching the tight ends, Breaux w/ the running backs, Jack Burns doing whatever, and Dan Henning doing something.

The problem isn't the number of coaches or whether their titles conflict.

It's the players this pathetic front office has assembled.

I think this Maas character doesnt really know what he is talking about, because many teams have an Oline coordinater, TE coach, QB coach, D coach, defensive back coach. I think all teams do. WTF is he thinking, that Gibbs coaches the offense, the line, the QB, and calls the plays???? No team in the NFL does that.

That was what I was saying. We do not have an unusual number of coaches, just some unusual titles. WHO CARES?

So according to Maas we would have won more games this year if we had given our coaches different titles?

Not just changing the titles - getting rid of a few of them for some new coaches that aren't ol' geysers. Do you really believe we need Breaux as an offensive coordinator? Why not just give that to Saunders and get rid of Breaux altogether?

Yes, but the players we bring in are based on the assessments of the individual coaches. Blache and Lindsey bring in their guys from Chicago (HoldMan, Daniels), Gray and Williams bring in their own guys (Vincent, Prioleau), etc. Its almost as though each of these coaches is getting way too much say in who we bring in (because of their previous experience as a headcoach/coordinator).
