Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?
That had to do with Brunell being a veteran and being Gibbs' hand picked guy.

washingtonpost.com: Redskins' Gibbs Keeps the Faith "Mann said the coach did not directly impose his beliefs on others, pointing to players like John Riggins, a free spirit who rebelled against religion or any other form of authority, and Dexter Manley, who, it was later revealed, suffered from a serious drug problem." "Quarterback Patrick Ramsey, who said he is a born-again Christian, said their shared evangelistic faith will give them "a chance of a deeper connection as we get to know each other." Ramsey is fighting Brunell for the starting job next season. Like Brunell, Ramsey said he has prayed with Gibbs over meals and talked about their mutual beliefs."

As for anything having to do with how Gibbs handled Riggo and anyone else from that era, thats ancient history and Gibbs just isnt the same person he was back then. |

Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?
So what are you saying? Brunell prayed with Gibbs more times than Ramsey did? And this is why Gibbs picked Brunell?

Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?
No. I'm saying because Gibbs prayed with MB he was not able to bench him when he should have. Its like in any job, the guys that play golf & cards with the boss are not usually the ones that get laid off.

Don't bother. He's already said he's not going to change his mind. Let him be happy believing Gibbs makes critical team decisions based on religion.

Re: Whats On Gibbs Clipboard?
Are you guys serious? Joe Gibbs is a man of faith, and that's one of the biggest reasons why I have so much respect for the man, well that and those three Super Bowl trophies. I think Coach Gibb's faith gives him better perspective on running this football team, and he knows life is more important than just football. If there was a Coach of the Year award for just common decency and generosity Coach Gibbs would win hands down! Speaking of loyalty, I guess if he didn't have any loyalty he would have never come back to the mess that Synder and the boys have made here, he would have gone somewhere where they knew how to run a football team. It says a lot about the man's character that he decided to come back only with the Redskins!
