Re: NFLDraftScout 2007 1st round mock draft
...its still Gaines Adams.
Is NFL Draft Scout a subscription site? I have a feeling that either Reggie Nelson or LaRon Landry is going to fly into top 5 and be gobbled up by Arizona. I think we will end up getting Branch. I would rather have Jamaal Anderson from Arkansas over Adams if we were going the end route. He's stouter against the run.

Once the combine comes, a bunch of guys will fly up the charts, some of whom will deserve it, and others who don't (archuleta has always had great numbers and played far below what they'd indicate). btw, they rate gaines as the #7 guy and anderson as the #11, so they aren't that far apart. |

I read one earlier on Yahoo Sport's but I'm stoned so I cant find it for shit. It had the Skins getting Adam Gaines as well but it had Brady Quinn MUCH lower, going to the Raiders in the 10th or 11th pick I think. I'll take Gaines.

Re: NFLDraftScout 2007 1st round mock draft
I would like to see us trade down and get a MLB and a CB. How many DE's drafted at #1 panned out? Look at Houston's #1 overall pick Mario Williams last year. He only had 4.5 sacks.

Re: NFLDraftScout 2007 1st round mock draft
I get the feeling that we are going to have trouble trading our #6 pick. I still think the skin find some way to get a 3rd round pick (or therabout). Probably trading away a pick from next year or something.
I think that until we see what we get in the free agent market, I can't be sure how we should pick.

Re: NFLDraftScout 2007 1st round mock draft
i think thats a bad mock draft. jamarcus russel all the way down to 7? hall to 12? anderson at 18? terrible mock draft. nfldraftcountdown.com is much better

We need penetration up front. Get a D-tackle. Get Branch. Ever since our last experiment in the first round from Clemson, Gaines Adams makes me weary. |

Re: NFLDraftScout 2007 1st round mock draft
Yes that was Rod Gardner. I know that's not a good measure to use when drafting a completely different player.
I just think defensive tackle is more of a need. If we had a second round pick, to me, it would be a toss-up between corner and defensive end. |

Re: NFLDraftScout 2007 1st round mock draft
except that it blew countdown away in accuracy last year (and probably the year before), so i'm not really sure why you'd think it's so terrible. After workouts they'll all change anyways.

how many killer DEs go on the FA market though? about the same number of elite LTs, which is maybe 1 per year, if you're lucky. Some times you've just gotta draft your own instead of hoping a stud falls out of the sky for you :/. |

As I've said for some time, I'd love to trade down and nab Patrick Willis and another draft pick so maybe I want to believe that someone is going to be willing to trade up. |
