Re: World's oldest known person, dies at 114
Last week, I was just reading about how she was the oldest person. Now she's dead. I can't say I saw that coming.
![]() Seriously, could you imagine living through an entire century? Especially the 20th century? -- so much change! It must have been amazing. I can only hope that I live to see the year 2100.

That is pretty remarkable. I've always wondered like what it would have been like to sit and talk with Bob Hope about everything he saw in his life (yeah I think weird things I know)

Re: World's oldest known person, dies at 114
I feel kind of bad about her death because I was making fun of her last week after I read about her record. The photo that ran along side the story was of her daughter or grand-daughter propping her head up and I was joking that she'd come full-circle and was now back to being a baby. I still stand by my original thought that I really wouldn't want to live that long unless I could still function like an adult.

grillz, great minds think alike. if i can still function like a semi normal human being, then i wouldn't mind living to be an old geezer. but if I'm pretty much incapacitated, then its time for me to move on. and that is really old, 114

I agree though. I would only want to live to be that old if my mind was still sharp. I can sacrifice the body, but if I don't have my mind, then forget about it.

She's not Bob Hope but my great grandmother lived to be 104 and saw many changes in her life. She lived by herself until 102 (I think) she was in very good health until she fell and at that age they just can't recover.
