Re: Could the Redskins actually be considered stable?

"Stability" is something to be cherished when your team is 12-4 and went deep into the playoffs if not to the Super Bowl. That was the beauty of the Redskins in the 1980s and early 1990s when Jack Kent Cooke was the guy handing out the outrageously high salaries for assistant coaches and back-up players.

The current "stability" of the coaching staff of a 5-11 team - and one that has made only a cameo appearance in the playoffs this millineum - MIGHT just be due to the fact that other teams don't think many of these coaches/coordinators are worth nearly what they are getting paid now let alone what it would take to pry them away from these cushy contracts. Let me say that more plainly; most of the Skins' coaches aren't nearly as good as they are made out to be and aren't worth nearly what they are getting paid!

Please notice that when the Cowboys (a playoff team in 06) and the Chargers (a playoff team in 06) and the Steelers (the Super Bowl champs in 05) went on a coaching search, they interviewed/targeted exactly ZERO coaches out of the 20+ geniuses that are guiding the Redskins' team. Obviously, those teams that did better than the Skins in the past several years must be taking pity on the Redskins and leaving them with this exquisite cadre of coaching talent. Otherwise they might have thought to at least interview one of these sterling individuals...
