Re: NFL to salute Virginia Tech during draft

Nice, more pablum puking insincere PR crap from the NFL. God damn, take a horrible disaster and do something half assed to honor them(victims) during the draft. I have to agree with that soldier in Iraq, we fly our flags half mast for shooting victims, but the poor boogs in Iraq that knowingly put themselves in harms way to defend our way of life get treated like crap by our govt, etc. I mean it is terrible what happend at Va Tech, but can people really feel a sincere empathy for folks they don't know? Folks in this country wear their hearts on their sleeves way too much.

While you may think it was half assed at least they did something at the draft. What did you expect a 2 hour program during the draft? U.S. soldiers do not get treated like crap often, believe me. When they do it is usually by Civilians not the Government. But those circumstances are heavily outweighed by the times that they receive overwhelming gratitude. Yes, you can feel empathy for people that you don't know due to a common bond. You just expressed empathy for U.S. servicemembers in that last paragraph, and I guarentee that you do not know all of them.
