Re: Cooley Was On the Radio This Morning
At the Beach Blast golf classic, my group was paired with Cooley's group. You can get pretty comfortable talking to someone during a golf game, and around the 10th hole, there was talk about his contract. He sounded less than optimistic. He basically said that Dan told him they would get a contract worked out at the end of last season so he thought things were cool, but then as the season got closer they started making him offers that were comparable to what an average tight end would get. Cooley feels like he is above average and should be paid accordingly. He said he was uneasy about the way negotiations were going, and didn't sound real confident he would be in DC next year.
Maybe not what people want to hear, and maybe it was just lip service, but he sure as heck sounded genuine. P.S. He also said the cheerleaders won't even talk to him anymore but that if they could just keep thier mouths shut nobody would ever find out... He is responsible for 3 dismissals.
