Blache very nearly became head coach of the 49ers a few years ago, before they stunned everyone and hired Dennis Erickson.

I'd love to see, over the next two years, guys like Earnest Byner and Kirk Olivadotti take on a bigger role with the team coordinating the offense and defense and emerge as an in-house candidate to be head coach. That's something that's missing I think from Gibbs' legacy, a homegrown coaching tree.

IMO Blache will become a head coach in this league very soon.

My thoughts on Byner and Olivadotti, I don't think so, and really could care less.

The only thing right know that's missing from the legacy of Joe is a HOMEGROWN WINNING TREE, which is all I care about!

With that said, I think this year we mesh and Joe's legacy comes back to life.

Buges did when 7 games, I think, in Arizona, which is the equivilant of winning 3 rings anywhere else. Just to be fair.

Blache is great. We should hold on to him like grim death. Who else could have gotten more out of the guys he' had?
