The NFL actually did change the numbering rules for wide receivers since teams started running out of 80-89 for the number of wideouts and tight ends they carry. Then, they decided to let WRs use #11-19. If I had my way, all wideouts in the league would be 80-89 and tight ends would be able to choose between 20-49, along with running backs and defensive backs. I don't know why, but wide receivers are such a recognizable part of the game, (second only to quarterbacks) I think they should all be known for one particular set of numbers. If only I ruled the world ... |
